The Tech 21 Power Engine 60 is an open-backed, 1x12" powered extension cab designed to match and complement the Trademark 60 combo. It features a special-design speaker, level control, 3-band active EQ, 1/4" input, and balanced XLR input and output. While not a standalone piece, it can be used with any discrete preamp. You don't have to tweak your presets. Just plug into the Power Station and you have your sounds.

    I have owned this amp for almost 6 years. It is fantastic. I use an Line 6 X3 and this is fantastic. With almost 15 years of professional experience, I can tell you without a doubt, that this is the best way to go. This thing will get loud if you need it to, but we always mic it, so I never have the need to go up higher than 1/4 of the way. Does not color sound at all...and is light weight, but has taken a beating from me, and still looks new. This is a great road amp, if you use lots of effects, like I do. Plus, at the price, you cant beat the quality of Tech 21.

    I purchased this to use with my Vox Tonelab St and it suits it perfectly. This is THE product to use with any pre-amp or effect processor. It offers a clean sound that will not "color" your tone. There is an on board EQ in case you need to tweak the sound. If you run any kind of these effect units the Tech 21 is the only way to go. Its built well(like all of their products), it's lightweight, and it's LOUD! If you need more power you can daisy chain these from here to eternity!

  • Best Amp I've ever owned!

    After much research I decided to buy this amp to compliment my Pod HD500. What interested me the most was that Tech21 even recommended this product to go with the Pod when they sell their own preamps. The Pod HD500 output needs to be set to combo amp mode in the global settings. The amp is so tranparent that you can't really hear the difference in sound quality between what comes out of the amp or your headphones! This means you can program your tones through the headphones and not have to tweek them later when you are hearing them out of the Power Engine 60. The amp is plenty loud for practice or gigging. It looks good too. The price is so good that I am seriously considering buying a 2nd amp and running stereo to maximize the capabilities of the HD500. Normally I wouldn't play out live in stereo but the amp is light and sleek in size that it wouldn't be a problem. Another nice feature is that there are no outward knobs on the amp. The few buttons that there are are recessed. You set the volume once and control everything from the Pod HD500 or whatever preamp you are using. There is a 3 knob EQ but really no need to use it. I love this amp.
