Overview

Everybody wants to keep their finish as pristine as possible, and the Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard is looking out for your guitar. It's clear, so your color shines right through, and it attaches to your guitar without any glue! You can even remove and re-apply it. Its universal shape fits any Taylor acoustic guitar.

Advisory for older guitars (pre-1995) with nitrocellulose lacquer or conversion varnish: These finishes may be damaged as a result of using this pickguard. Always remove pickguard from guitar when not in use. All glossy finished Taylor Guitars built in 1995 or later use a UV cured finish that is less susceptible to damage, though it is recommended to remove pickguard when not in use.

Recently I purchased a beautiful Breedlove acoustic guitar. The model I purchased didn't have a pick guard, so I was a little nervous about scratches to the finish. I did a little research and found this transparent, re-usable pick-guard from Taylor. I knew that I didn't want to apply a pick guard with any adhesive to the front of my guitar because I didn't want to damage the finish. I also didn't want to change the appearance to my guitar either, so I thought I'd give this one a try. It works perfectly. You can't see it unless you really look closely, and it provides the protection I was looking for. It's kind of like buying and applying a screen protector for you iPod. Very simple idea that works great.

this product is only good if you have a glossy finish on your guitar. I have a guitar with a dull finish on it and it looks great but doesnt have a pick guard on it so i needed this product. I finally got it in the mail and it had no chance of sticking to my guitar. I wish i would have known it would have only stuck to specific finishes before I ordered it....

Comments about Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard:

      1. There are micro bubbles all over the darned thing. Try as I might, I can't get them out. Does it bother me? Not really because I can't see them while I'm playing, and I don't care what the audience thinks about my guitar, I'd rather they care about my playing.

      2. I care about my guitar and this thing is great for the stray heavy-handed strumming into the top. I haven't taken it off since i put it on. I have noticed no detrimental effects to my finish. I don't know what kind of finish Alvarez uses, but its definitely not nitro lacquer because the finish is fine. Just in case you have an Alvarez and are worried about it because I sure was.

      3. It's less than $20 and have you gotten a quote from a luthier who does finish work about how much it would cost to install a clear pick guard? It's a heck of a lot more than $10 and I think anything permanently affixed onto the soundboard could affect the sound. This isn't a permanent thing so I can take it off whenever.

      10/10 would buy again!

        Static Adhesive Pick Guard

        By BRIAN

        from Augusta, MI

Comments about Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard:

I've owned one of these that lasted about 4 years. It's done it's job well but finally tore at the sound hole. My first 12 string didn't have a pick guard and I tore up the sound hole and had to have it repaired and a pick guard placed. Way more expensive than this little product. It's virtually invisible and didn't cause any finish issues on my Taylor 12.

        Taylor Removable Pick Guard

        By Wesley Beale

        from Magnolia, Texas

Comments about Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard:

I purchased a Fender T-bucket several months ago which comes with no pickguard. Fearing that the finish would become marred, I ordered the Taylor removable pickguard from Guitar Center. The pickguard arrive in good condition and was easily placed on the body of the guitar. I've used the pickguard for several weeks and I am very pleased with it. I only remove it to polish the guitar. It very easy to apply and remove, in that there is no glue or screws involved. It is simply held in place by static cling. The Taylor pickguard is simply a great little product. However, I feel that it would be even better if it covered a little more area of the guitar body.

        Perfect!

        By Nick G

        from Aiken, SC

Comments about Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard:

I have a Taylor DN8 and needed a pickguard that I could put on with out hurting the finish (in the event I ever wanted to take it off). This is perfect. It is help on by static so no sticky residue or anything. It does not shift or begin to peel off at all. Also, it is barely noticeable. This little $10 piece will save your guitars finish in the long run.

Everyone with an acoustic guitar can benefit from this pickguard.

        By Chuck

        from Cincinnati, Ohio

Comments about Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard:

I use this on a very high end acoustic that has no pickguard so this is the perfect solution until I decide if I want to install a permanent guard. If you already have a pickguard, you can simply flip it over and use it on the bass side of your sound hole for more aggressive strumming. You can place where you tend to hit the top. A must have. A lot of protection for 10 bucks.

        Just the thing

        By Rob

        from kentucky

Comments about Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard:

If your are want to protect the finish of your guitar without having to change the look then this is "just the thing". It is cheap, easy to apply, and removable. It is clear and uses static to cling to your guitar--"only works with gloss guitar finish". Just stick it on and if you need to adjust it just peel it off and reappy. I do wish there was hints in the instructions to getting all the air bubbles out. its almost impossible and does detract from the overall look. Still a keeper though. Neat concept. Would highly recommend product to protect your guitar investment.

        Great Product But...

        By Jon Axe

        from Milwaukee, WI

Comments about Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard:

The product itself is great and sticks securely to the guitar top if it has a high gloss finish. My product was received folded in half. Because it needs to be perfectly smooth and flat, it could not be used. Guitar Center was great and shipped me a replacemnt at no charge.

        Taylor clear reusable pick guard

        By Ken

        from Cincinnati, Ohio

Comments about Taylor Universal Reusable Acoustic Pickguard:

Great for protecting your guitar and still being able to see the beautiful wood. A little pricey as to the shipping but a good product. I use a pick an my two fingers do drag on top of the guitar. I have a DN3 that comes without pick guard so this solved the problem.
