Expensive? Yes! But this stand is furniture grade wood and it looks as sensational as the Taylor guitars it's designed to hold! Probably not a stand to take on the road, but works perfectly for displaying your fine Taylor guitar in your home or office. The stand holds guitar safely in a 'picture-perfect' position and is highly stable when guitar is bumped or removed for playing... and besides that... it's well designed, easy to put together and is the perfect compliment to the quality of Taylor guitars!
I am very happy with my new Taylor guitar stand. It has a great look and the fit and finish are excellent. It is a perfect addition to my home music studio. It works well with my Martin 6 string flat top as well as my Gibson big box jazz guitar. It wouldn't be the best choice for a thin body electric guitar. It doesn't collapse so it obviously wouldn't work well for the touring musician. If you have a nice guitar and are looking to upgrade from the black metal tubes covered with foam rubber, then this stand is for you.
Very well made (as you would expect from Taylor. Good for acoustic players. Not so good for classical players since it's designed for a deeper body and my classical has to much freedom of movement.
I think it's a beautiful addition to my bedroom and was very simple to assemble. I also think the price isn't incredibly expensive for something that really adds to your room...and for me, got my guitar out into the open from a guitar case it used to be in. Arrived quickly too!
This is a cool looking stand. And if you love Taylor guitars like i do and want the official thing, then there ya go... my 814-ce fits like a glove and there in an extra notch so you could stick an electric on this if you wanted, like i'll put my t5 (awesome) on there and it's fine, but this really is just an acoustic guitar stand. It's beautiful addition to my recording studio. I have three taylors and thus three of these stands. They are pricy.. but so is everything "Taylor Made"...
I would think for the cost you would get a stand that would have no marks in the wood. Mine had one imperfection, fortunately it's in a hard to find spot. Thus it doesn't show unless you go looking ofr it. I guess the taylor logo is what makes it cost more. Good stand that looks great with my instrument on it. Wasn't sure how the logos were to face since it doesn't come with instructions. But I wanted a really good dressy stand and this was what I could find in wooden stands. Everything else is pipe or plastic. I wanted wood.
