Overview

The solid Sitka spruce top on Taylor's GS8 guitar belts out a lot of volume with tight bass and pronounced, crisp highs supported by the gorgeous Indian rosewood back and sides. Comely cosmetics include gold-plated tuners, ivoroid body and fretboard binding, abalone rosette and microdot fret markers, bound ebony fretboard, and ebony bridge.

Bob Taylor personally designed the Grand Symphony body style for a unique sound. The higher, wider waist and a rounder lower bout you get in the GS8 guitar result in distinctive tone with deep piano-like bass, rich mids, and clear, balanced highs”all with plenty of volume.

GS8 Rosewood/Spruce Top Guitar

By Paul Kintanar

from Walnut, California

I've been playing my Martin D28 for about 15 years now. Everytime I go inside a guitar store and play good guitars on display, I always gauge it with my Martin. I always consider my D28's as one of the best sounding guitars to date. Until, yesterday when I tried the GS8, I was really amazed with how it sounds. I coudn't resist it that I ended bying one. It is trully a work of art in as much as it looks so good too. When I changed the strings with a custom light, the more I liked it.

GS equals "Great Sound\

By J.Lyon

from kensington, MD

I recently purchased a Taylor GS (Rosewood Spruce with the expression system) It's the first guitar I've acquired in the last fifteen years. (I also own 3 Martins, and 2 Gibsons) Okay, I'm old and have been playing for a long time. I have seen and heard Taylor guitars for years now and never thought of getting one until I saw and played the new GS series. I settled on the Rosewood-Spruce because of it's beauty of sound and appearance, it is just a treat to play. Great response and a tone found in no other guitar I own. Sure the other guitars have beautiful voices of their own but I've found that the Taylor GS is really something fresh and inviting. It's beckons one to "pick me up and play me" and the workmanship clearly belies the price tag.The Taylor family should be very proud of thier new baby.
