The left-handed Taylor GC8ES-LH is a Rosewood/Spruce Grand Concert acoustic-electric guitar is a small-bodied acoustic that is intimate and curvey yet has volume that belies its size. The GC8ES has the classic tonewood combination of Sitka spruce top for brightness and Indian rosewood for strong bass and sustain. The slotted peghead and short-scale neck deliver a more "woody" tone and an unbelievably easy feel on the fretboard. Appointments include an abalone rosette, gold slotted tuners, Ivoroid binding and heelcap, and an Indian Rosewood headstock overlay. Comes with a Taylor Hardshell case.
The grand concert shape defines intimacy in its size and sound. The GC is dynamically responsive to a lighter touch and is well-suited for fingerpicking. With clarity and balance, it's also perfect for mic'ing and home recording.
The finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.
The Taylor Expression Electronics System featured in the GC8ES-LH has a purity of high-fidelity amplified tone, unprecedented dynamic range, and extraordinary resistance to feedback and distortion. It enables all of the expressive subtleties of your playing to come through, just the way you intended.
The Expression System incorporates three different magnetic sensors. Two strategically placed Dynamic Body Sensors„¢ affixed to the underside of the soundboard capture the complex nuances of the top's vibration, while a Dynamic String Sensor„¢ mounted beneath the fretboard extension registers string and neck vibration.
The preamp, developed with collaborative input from pro audio pioneer Mr. Rupert Neve, boosts the pickup signal cleanly, without the need for artificial EQ "coloration". The balanced, low-impedance signal the Expression System produces can run direct into a mixer or PA in most situations, and is free of distortion at almost any volume.
Three simple, unintrusive onboard control knobs preserve the aesthetic beauty of your Taylor, yet allow you to easily adjust the volume, bass, and treble to suit your personal preferences and performance environment.
