Purchased directly from the Taylor booth at NAMM 2016, the Custom-GS-9060 is a Grand Symphony model with a Venetian cutaway and Taylor Expression System 2 electronics. It features the sweet look and sound of ovangkol on the top while its premium Adirondack spruce body offers up a ton of projection. It's special appointments include a 3-ring abalone rosette, cocobolo binding, V-carve neck, fiber purfling, Gotoh 510 chrome tuners and G2-twisted ovals, Italian acrylic fret inlays.
Includes brown hardshell case.
With a slightly larger footprint than the Grand Auditorium, the GS yields a slightly more potent and dynamic all-around sound. Players can expect deeper bass, thicker trebles, and increased volume and low-end sustain, all without disrupting the tonal balance and clarity of the guitar.
An African relative of rosewood, ovangkol shares many of rosewood’s tonal properties, including a wide spectrum from lows and highs. Differences include a slightly fuller midrange and a bright treble response resembling that of koa.
Great for the classic sound of the golden era of guitars (the '30s, '40s), Adirondack spruce gives you plenty of response and volume and is able to handle a wide variety of playing styles.
