Taylor's second offering in Indian rosewood, the 800 Series traces its roots to the earliest Taylors. Bob' latest design changes speak of traditional lutherie in the form of hand-set, curly maple binding. It' a gorgeous upgrade that complements the beautiful hues of rosewood and sparkling inlay work. For many, the 800 Series is a true Taylor icon. The 812ce-L Rosewood/Spruce Grand Concert Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar is small-bodied but not small-voiced. This redesigned rosewood Grand Concert packs an acoustic-electric wallop in a compact size.
Indian rosewood seems as if it was created to be on a guitar. The clarity, balance, sustain, excellent bass response, and wonderful coloration and figure are without equal. Paired with Sitka spruce, it is an unstoppable combination.
Grand Concert (GC)
This shape defines intimacy in its size and sound. The GC is dynamically responsive to a lighter touch and is well-suited for fingerpicking. With clarity and balance, it' also perfect for mic™ing and home recording.
Using proprietary pickup technology developed at Taylor, the Expression System amplifies your guitar with an unrivaled, natural live sound. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally-clean amplified sound. It' your tone. Amplified.
The finish used to create this guitar's lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes. Available in natural finish.

Comments about Taylor 812ce-L Rosewood/Spruce Grand Concert Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Just bought this used, without electronics. I probably will eventually upgrade to 814ce or 714ce, as prefer bigger size, but this has a great all around tone and perfect all over neck. Being that sounds great with 10 year old strings, which I will replace soon, I'm sure sounds that much better with newer ones. Surely will be preferred buy those that prefer smaller acoustics, but for a small room, sounds very full, larger rooms a bit weak, but can always plug in.
