Overview

The 500 Series 2014 522ce Grand Concert is an all-mahogany cutaway design that packs plenty of its tonewoods’s signature midrange warmth and focus into a lap-friendly body size. The hardwood mahogany top adds a natural compression across the tonal spectrum, which helps to smooth out your attack to produce a linear response that tracks well for solo recording and playing with other instruments. The shorter-scale (24-7/8-in.) neck helps with fretting and bending strings, making this a fun fingerstyle for blues and other roots music genres. The modern-vintage aesthetic includes a shaded edgeburst body and neck, faux tortoise shell binding, a rosette of faux tortoise shell framed by grained ivoroid, and a grained ivoroid Century fretboard inlay. A Venetian cutaway invites you up the guitar neck, while Taylor’s plug-and-play Expression System 2 acoustic electronics relay the guitar’s natural sonic nuances in an amplified setting.

The 500 Series 2014 522ce Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric comes with a deluxe hardshell case.

Awesome out of the box

Comments about Taylor 500 Series 522ce Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Needing a lighter weight, smaller bodied guitar than the Martin I played for several years led me to look at the Taylor Concert lineup. After buying 312 I found the bass overpowering for the Bose system I normally play through. Did the research, read what I could about woods, etc. so I decided to order the 522ce in mahogany. (1) Beautiful guitar. (2) The best blended harmonics on any guitar I have ever played. It is a "quieter" guitar, but perfect bass tone, good mid, and one of the first new guitars I have played that was not to "tinny" on the treble side. (Still thinking about the Koa:), but really happy with this guitar!)
