Ovangkol lends exotic flare to the 400 Series, with a tone many find similar to Indian rosewood. Follow the fluid lines of the Venetian cutaway, dramatically outlined with contrasting white binding. The Expression System pickup completes the package on the popular 416CE Grand Symphony Acoustic-Electric Guitar. The bold-voiced GS body style, together with an ovangkol/Sitka spruce tonewood pairing, translates into a powerful guitar with impressive tonal breadth and dynamic range. Itll cover a lot of sonic terrain.

The timbre of ovangkol, which many find reminiscent of rosewood, combines with the punch of a Sitka spruce top to create a rich tonal tapestry.

Grand Symphony (GS)
Though you might see similarities to a Grand Auditorium, the GS is unique in both sound and shape. Significant changes in its geometry yield a deeper, more piano-like bass. A wider lower bout and higher, wider waist return ample volume and low-end sustain, in symphony with fuller mids and balanced highs.

Expression System
Using proprietary pickup technology developed at Taylor, the Expression System amplifies your guitar with an unrivaled, natural live sound. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally-clean amplified sound. Its your tone. Amplified.

Gloss Top/Satin Back & Sides
The finish used to create this guitar's textured satin back and sides and lustrous gloss top was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.

Worth the wait.

Comments about Taylor 416CE Grand Symphony Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

After waiting 3 years and trying over 50 top end guitars (Gibson, Martin and Taylor) I have found the guitar for me. I'm a rhythm guitar player but, I do like to solo out once in awhile and this guitar delivers. I've played 4 of the same make and model of this guitar between 2 stores and found that the sound I fell in love with 3 years ago was the same sound I still loved in every guitar of this model I've played. Perfect tones and great bass. The med range is more than plenty and the high end can be more pronounced when you want it to. Playing softy gives you so much detail in your chords and playing hard will allow you to play you chords without mudding them up. As for looks, this guitar is not meant to be a jaw dropper... no one is going to pass you while playing this guitar and be like " Wow did you see that inlay on the fret board?, Dude that guitar looks sick...ect ect" For me the natural feel and look of the satin finish on the back, sides, and neck. Really helps bring out the beautiful wood used on this guitar. And hell with its humble looks, no one would expect the surprising sound the boasts out of the guitar. Also it looks so simple that unless you have a trained eye this guitar doesn't look worth stealing. On the other hand your friend might not realize you spent $2k plus tax for it. SO watch out for stupid people. Overall coming from over 13 years playing guitar this is my first high end guitar. I would of saved and spent any amount to get the sound I was looking for. It just so happened that is 416CE fit the bill, and just right. I'll be holding on to this beauty for years to come.

Excellent Guitar!

Comments about Taylor 416CE Grand Symphony Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I originally purchased a Martin GPCPA4 but found that it didn't have a very pleasing tone, playability, or electronic system (Fishman F1 analog). I wanted an acoustic-electric with some really good low end, full sound, and good electronics. The 416ce fits the bill! I love the larger size GS body style, it projects a lot of volume (comes standard with medium strings). The playability and factory setup is one of the best I have played on and really excels at fingerstyle, flat picking, and strumming. The ES pickup system is very easy to adjust and sounds very nice, it is easy to dial in a pretty accurate acoustic sound. I would highly recommend this guitar, it is a solid acoustic-electric with a very full sound from a great company.
