The Taylor 414CE-LTD Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar has flawless intonation all the way up the neck. Harmonically rich tones ring out from the solid cedar top while walnut back and sides add balance and texture. Great for fingerstyle playing and vocal accompaniment, this Taylor guitar also features beautiful maple binding and an ebony fretboard and bridge. The Taylor Expression System electronics deliver acoustic sound to the electronic realm with fidelity and ease-of-use whenever you plug in.
The Grand Auditorium was the first guitar shape designed from scratch by Bob Taylor. It was unveiled to commemorate the company's 20th Anniversary in 1994, and since then it has more than lived up to its promise. Although the GA has the width and depth of a Dreadnought, its narrower waist gives it the appearance of a smaller instrument, adds treble "zing" across the guitar's tonal spectrum, sharpens the definition of individual notes, and also enables it to rest comfortably in the lap. Because Taylor removes mass from the width of the GA's braces, the guitar top moves faster, resulting in a snappy, bell-like tone. The GA is designed to be a strong fingerpicking guitar that also can handle medium strumming, and is exceptionally versatile.
The Expression System (ES) is an all-magnetic acoustic pickup system that works like a microphone to produce a pure signal and a warm, natural acoustic sound. When you plug in, you'll hear the sound of your guitar, not the sound of the pickup. No complicated controls. No tone simulators. Just a clean amplified acoustic sound supported by three simple controls ” volume, bass and treble.
