Each year, Bob Taylor and his team of luthiers offer a limited production run of special guitars featuring exotic woods and upgraded specs. The Fall 2009 Limited Edition Taylor 412CE guitar features exotic Tasmanian Blackwood. This nicely figured wood is similar to koa in appearance and only grows on the island of Tasmania off the southern coast of Australia. It is a highly protected, rare wood and is not often available in quantity. Blackwood produces a warm, solid tone that is highly desirable. Taylor chose to match this wood to a Sitka spruce top for fidelity and even tone at all playing levels.
Taylor Grand Concert design
Re-voiced and now with a deeper body, the Taylor Grand Concert is a premiere small-bodied acoustic-electric guitar, built for discerning guitar enthusiasts. Its comfortable shape delivers clarity and a balanced response for an unforgettable playing experience. Scaled-down proportions make the Taylor Grand Concert acoustic-electric guitar ideal for fingerstyle playing.
Tasmanian Blackwood back and sides
Also called Black Acacia, Tasmanian blackwood is known for its deep, dark grain patterns and warm, mellow tone. This member of the Acacia family is prized for its striking appearance, much like its relative, Hawaiian koa. It can be found in Australia, East Africa, Sri Lanka, and India.
Expression System electronics
Using proprietary pickup technology developed at Taylor, the Expression System amplifies the 412CE guitar with an unrivaled, natural live sound. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally clean sound.
The finish used to create a lustrous gloss top, back, and sides was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. The Taylor 412CE guitar's ultraviolet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes.
This ultra-value 400 series Taylor acoustic-electric guitar is adorned with a narrow maple wedge on the back, maple binding and a maple heel cap. Add the striking fingerboard inlays, rosette, and an all-gloss finish, and you've got an acoustic-electric guitar that is packed with extras at an amazing price. The quantity of Taylor acoustic guitars is very limited, so order one of these very special guitars now, while limited supplies last.
