Part of Taylor's 300 Series Special Edition models, the 322e 12-Fret SEB is a handsome Grand Concert with vintage looks that match perfectly with its wonderfully played-in sound. The 322e 12-fret SEB features Taylors distinctive 12-fret non-cutaway design with a shaded edgeburst, tropical mahogany top and sapele back and sides that give it that throwback appeal.
The 12-fret neck-to-body orientation features a shifted bridge location (closer to the center of the lower bout) that produces a more mature voice and a warm, punchy midrange. Thanks to the shorter 24-7/8" scale length, you can expect a slinkier string feel. Together with the comfortably compact Grand Concert body, this promises to be a fun and inspiring fingerpicking machine that also offers ample headroom for strumming. Onboard Taylors Expression System 2 electronics wire you for natural-sounding amplified tone whenever you feel like sharing your sound with an even bigger audience or just want to play loud..
The smallest of Taylors full-size body shapes. Its compact dimensions make for a physically comfortable guitar with an intimate feel and sound. The smaller footprint keeps the overtones in check, contributing to a focused, articulate sound thats well-suited for recording and stage work.
As a top wood, mahogany produces a natural compression, so it wont yield as quick a response as a spruce-top guitar will. A mahogany-top guitar will produce strong fundamentals, with clear and direct focus. It might be characterized as having a woody, dry tone.
Sapeles tonal output is consistent and balanced across the tonal spectrum, making it compatible with a diverse range of playing styles. Its comparable to mahogany but its higher density tends to produce a slightly brighter sound with more top-end shimmer.
