Compared to the Taylor Grand Auditorium, the Grand Symphony has a bigger, rounder lower bout and slightely wider "waist" area, and the bigger sound board (top) means more tonal output. Expect a meaty lower midrange and strong treble shimmer. A GS is best if you want a guitar with a robust low end, strong volume when strumming or flatpicking, and clear articulation in response to light fingerpicking attack.
Tone Wood Pairing
A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. Mahogany is a hardwood that produces a natural compression, yielding more "roll-in" effect to a note. The compression evens out a lively attack for a more linear response. Mahogany tops deliver strong fundamentals with clear and direct focus. Tonally, blackwood behaves somewhere in the middle of rosewood and mahogany, with a little extra shimmer and chime that shows its family resemblance to koa. Pairing blackwood with the mahogany top not only gives you that roll-in effect associated with a mahogany top - really smooth attack and balance - but extra complexity as the note decays. It's a great combination.
Taylor's ES2 is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor’s ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before.
Together with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier, or direct into recording software, the Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar. The Taylor Expression System 2 operates through a proprietary 9-volt battery compartment and easy-to-use volume, bass and treble controls.
What sets Taylor Guitars apart? Unmatched build quality, the most stable and playable necks, a vast array of tonal options, eco-conscious and ethically-sourced raw materials, and a lifetime of service and support.

Comments about Taylor 300 Series 326ce-SEB Grand Symphony Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
This is my second taylor, I have had the 414ce for 3 years and love it, but the 326ce is even better! it sounds amazing, and has all of Taylor's quality. If you are looking at a taylor, you know why you wanton of them. With the mahogany top, I was worried that it would take away too much of that Taylor Brightness that I love, but it didn't. maybe its the bigger body, but the sound is big and full, great for strumming hard or plucking light. I am a worship pastor, and am a pretty strong strummer, and this guitar doesn't distort or get a nasty tone like some cheaper guitars. Just gets louder, and I love that! if you want a beautiful guitar, that will stand up to loud percussive playing, but still handle the subtle soft picking and sound amazing, this is your guitar. (P.S. Get the pro coverage, its amazing, any damage I may cause accidentally, poor humidity control etc. COVERED.)
