Overview

The rosewood laminate 200 Series models hone in on the fundamentals of a great guitar-playing experience to give you clear, balanced tone and great intonation. This 214ce-N Rosewood/Spruce Nylon String Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Veneitan cutaway is a perfect fit for the player looking for a uniquely different sound.

Grand Auditorium (GA)
Body Width: 16" / Body Depth: 4-5/8" / Body Length: 20"
Taylor's signature shape embodies the ultimate all purpose acoustic.

Tonewood
As a guitar soundboard, or top, Sitka spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. It's used on 85-90 percent of the guitars that Taylor makes. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. Sitka spruce is Bob Taylor's personal favorite for an all-around great guitar.

ES-N
Like the the ES-T, The ES-N is a single-source, under-saddle transducer, but the preamp design and tone controls were customized to complement the nylon-string voice. Standard ES control knobs enable plenty of tone-shaping and preserve the natural design aesthetic.

Includes gig bag.

different but better

By Robin Marchak

from fl

this guitar is not your normal "classical", but it is better in my opinion. first of all the tone is not low and pitchy like other classicals. it has a big and beautiful sound. the cut away is also very useful for soloing. it also comes with a soft "hardshell" case which is very nice.

Exactly What I Wanted

By Lynn Thomson

from Boise, Idaho

After reading many reviews, watching UTube videos of reviews and reading forums I decided this guitar was exactly what I was looking for. I've been playing steel string guitars for several years. I currently own a Taylor 314CE of spruce and sapelle. I toured the Taylor factory in El Cajon, CA last year so I know the product pretty well. When I saw the new line of Nylon string models I was really excited. I've owned several classical guitars and have found them all very tiring to play. The 1 7/8" neck on this guitar is perfect for my big fingers. I can easily play finger style or pick and strum. The tone of this guitar rivals the tone of any cedar/mahogany solid wood classical I've owned. I played a 414 CE spruce/koa model at another music store, since it was the only Taylor nylon string guitar I could find. After playing the 414 model I went ahead and ordered a spruce/rosewood (laminate) 214CE. But, Guitar Center shipped me the spruce/koa (laminate) model. I'm not a bit unhappy. It sounds as nice as the solid wood 414. Plug it in to an Acoustic Amp and you can make it sound like a $10,000 custom classical. I have no problem changing from steel strings to the nylon string guitar. I practice new songs on the nylon string guitar because it is much easier on my fingers. Long story, but, bottom line, if you want to transition to a nylon string guitar for a different sound and for ease of playability you can't go wrong with this Taylor.

great late night finger picker

By jim madsen

from ocean springs mississippi

I wanted a classical guitar for finger style practice I love this thing it's my go to guitar for late night practice without upsetting the family. You can play it loud if you want to and it sounds great with a pick as well I almost always use this first when learning something new just plays like butter and plug it in and you can really gig with this thing, I play it through my fishman amp and its down right amazing .
