Taylor's 200 Deluxe Series delivers all the essentials of a great guitar - exquisite playability, a full and articulate voice, impeccable intonation up the neck, and Taylor's top-of-the-line, professional-grade pickup - at a price that's within reach of many.

This collection strikes a sweet balance between tasteful design constraint and aesthetic variety, bringing Taylor's signature tonal clarity and playability into a stage-worthy mix of guitar options. The Deluxe moniker refers to the addition of a fully-glossed body as opposed to a glossy top with satin back and sides. In addition, all 200 Deluxe Series guitars ship in a hardshell case made by Taylor for optimal fit and protection.

Body Shape
A Taylor original, the Grand Auditorium helped establish the Taylor acoustic sound. The popular body style makes for a versatile guitar that yields ample volume in response to light fingerpicking, and reacts to medium strumming and flatpicking with a clear, balanced sound across the tonal spectrum. If you want a great all-purpose guitar, the GA is an excellent choice.

Tone Woods
A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. Sitka Spruce is the most prevalent guitar top wood of the modern era. It blends stiffness and elasticity in just the right proportions which translates into broad dynamic range with crisp articulation. Layered Rosewood back and sides create a sturdy and complementary platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top. Layered wood is less succeptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel with their instruments or simply require more durability.

Taylor's ES2 is a revolutionary pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor’s ongoing innovation in acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before. Together with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier, or direct into recording software, the Expression System 2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar. The Taylor Expression System 2 operates through a proprietary 9-volt battery compartment and easy-to-use volume, bass and treble controls.

What sets Taylor Guitars apart?  Unmatched build quality, the most stable and playable necks, a vast array of tonal options, eco-conscious and ethically-sourced raw materials, and a lifetime of service and support.

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214e Deluxe Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Have played on and off for many years, but never really improved so I decided to take lessons this year for the first time. After 10 weeks of lessons, I wanted to reward myself by looking into upgrading my beginning level Yamaha FG700S (by the way a really good beginning guitar). Ryan at the local Guitar Center showed me a number of guitars in their acoustic guitar room, but I fell in love with the Taylor 214e even though it was a good bit above my $600 budget. I came in for my weekly lesson and pilgrimage to the acoustic room to play the 214e (even if I could not buy one). Ryan saw me and came over to tell me they were running a 15% off this week. I bought it right then and there. I have not put it down for the last few days. This is a beautifully constructed guitar, the spruce top and rosewood back and sides are immaculate. The ebony neck allows your fingers to slide easily up and down the frets which are low to neck to reduce the pressure you need to apply to shape your notes and chords. The sound is rich, both in the lower and higher registers with no brassy or dissonant notes. If you have the money, this is a great choice for both quality and value.

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214e Deluxe Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am absolutely in love with this guitar. I have wanted a new guitar for a while now (previously had an Ibanez AEG10E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric, good beginner's guitar) but it was time to invest in something much better. I was in debate between Martin, Taylor and Gibson because I love all of them. I ended up decided Taylor after trying this one out in GC. After much comparison with other guitars, this not only was the best one I heard there, but it fit the budget.

Electronics are efficient and helpful, Volume is incredibly flexible, and this baby looks beautiful. On top of that, it includes a hard-shell case. Overall, I am satisfied and would recommend this to anyone I know!

          It's gorgeous!

Comments about Taylor 200 Series 214e Deluxe Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my first time to buy a guitar over 1,000 dollars, I have to say it shock me when I tried it. This instrument is such a masterpiece of Taylor. If you are a post-beginner trying to develop your fingerstyle, this is a right gear for you! I can tell the body shape, neck, the wood choice are mindfully arranged for fingerstyle. The notes are very stable and last longer, and they won't be off at all when you use a capo. I used to play a cheaper dreadnought guitar, it hurts my fingers and I can't play bar chords very well because the strings are too firm, if I press the strings too hard my left hand will suffer the great pain. But if you don't try to push the strings down so hard, you will produce the buzzing noise which sounds very unpleasant. However this 214e dlx eliminates all of these above! It protects your fingers!
