I just bought this guitar a few weeks ago and love it. The sound is incredible and it plays great. And awsome buy for a low end Taylor. I highly recommend it.
I literally cried. Thats how perfect it is. I wish i could give it 19 stars. Yea 19. that sounds about right.
I've had this guitar for several weeks and I love it. I originally wanted the 110-E, but they were out of stock and I was reccomended this one. This guitar is just as good as the 110-E. While the volume is slightly less, you can just upgrade to medium gauge strings and it sounds amazing.
My first Taylor! This thing has a wonderful full sound!! The base is deep and mids/highs are crisp and bright. I like the finish, it's not high gloss. The action is perfect, no fret buzz to be found anywhere and very easy to play! I was worried about mail order since I could not find one in stock at any GC lcoation in my area but all worked out perfectly with ZERO problems. This was a great upgrade to my first acoustic Ibanez Talman. The Talman is actually not a bad guitar but there is no comparison to this Taylor!! I highly recommend it and don't believe anyone would be disappointed!
This guitar is great. The strings are so easy to press against the fretboard, even in the tougher to reach places. It also gets great sound, even if you don't sound to good. The electric aspect is very good as well, which just adds to the value. It's an overall great guitar, especially if it's your second, or third. Although it's a little pricy for a first, it is worth it. It's great for just playing on the go, and for those occasions where electric guitars are a hassle. I highly recommend it for guitarists in their second to fourth year playing.
I've had this Taylor for two weeks or so and I've enjoyed every moment of it. I played a Takamine previous to the Taylor and nothing against Takamine, but there isn't much comparison. The sound on this guitar is fuller, crisper, and cleaner. As my title says...So Far So Great....Enjoy
I purchased this guitar almost a year ago. It definitely plays and sounds like a more expensive Taylor and (I think) it sounds even better plugged in. However, it may not be suitable for all types of music and sounds much less spectacular without Elixer strings. It also has not back bracing, which you should be mindful of. If you love the Taylor sound though, you will most likely love this guitar!
This is based on the acoustic qualities of the 114ce only, as I have yet to plug it into a sound system. I bought this because the 114 I wanted was out of stock and this one was on sale. I play mostly bluegrass and folksy stuff and this Taylor sounds bright and projects well. It's better overall than the solid top Martin I had before (their budget model). The Martin had nice tone but no projection. This one has a nice top end to the tone, smooth mids and a pretty tight bottom, not boomy whatsoever. The neck plays better than all the acoustics I tried in this price range. I really wanted to try some of the Blueridge models, but noone in my area has them. They are supposed to have extremely playable necks based upon the reviews I've seen. To sum up, this is a nice sounding guitar and I enjoy playing it. Everyone who hears it comments on the nice tone. If you have 2 grand for a guitar you may want to look elsewhere but for under 800 bucks this is a good choice.
I originally went to buy a "cheap" guitar I could learn on. After trying all of the lower end guitars, I picked up this Taylor and fell in love. The action was superb and the sound was amazing.
I can't really find a fault with this guitar! Very playable, great tone, not too bassy or trebly. I have played much more expensive instruments that were no better and maybe not as good.
