Stunning acoustic-electric tones and the bright punch of a maple top.

This is the T5 Standard Guitar upgraded by Taylor with a beautiful figured maple top, chrome hardware, and microdot fretboard inlays.

A resonant, fully hollow thinline body is the backbone of the Taylor T5. Its comfort and playability is unquestionable, with the performance freedom of a solidbody and the feel and sound of a beloved Taylor acoustic. Whether played through an electric or acoustic amp, the T5 delivers a fantastic range of pure tones from smooth, strumming acoustic to crunchy electric chords.

Electronics include a unique 5-way pickup system composed of a magnetic acoustic humbucker, magnetic electric humbucker, and a single Dynamic Body Sensor soundboard pickup, as well as a preamp system for mixing up the exact tone you need. Full binding, bone nut and saddle, stylized f-holes, a mahogany neck, sapele body, and an ebony fretboard and headstock overlay are standard on the Taylor T5 guitar.

Great all around axe

My eye fell for the T-5 before my fingers. One of the best looking guitar I have owned and I have had many. After I picked it up and played it I found one of the easyest playing accoustic guitar I've played. Then I pluged it in. If you need an all around guitar this is it if you have the green. It's a great sounding electric " with the right amp or a P.A." and sounds just as great unpluged. But it's the playing action that sold me.SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOth

My preference of the T5 line

A friend of mine owns the T5 Custom with a Koa top, but I actually prefer this one. Most of the specs are exactly the same, the primary difference simply being that this T5 has a Maple top and is essentially the standard acoustic-electric of the Taylor T5 line. Both models come with a hard case and the standard Taylor package? from that great sound to a subscription to their company publication. Taylor likes to mix up their electric stuff, and this isn?t much different. It has their own pickups, and they place the dials on the top. The guitar itself is great. It?s a thin, well-balanced guitar that actually compares quite favorably to the sounds found in a larger hollow bodied acoustic. Because of the price, my friend primarily uses his for playing at his house or when he has a gig. The guitar does not make casual trips from house to house. It would make a great investment, but it definitely isn?t for the beginner.
