Bold, bright tone from a real looker!

The solid Sitka spruce top on Taylor's GS8 guitar belts out a lot of volume with tight bass and pronounced, crisp highs supported by the gorgeous Indian rosewood back and sides. Comely cosmetics include gold-plated tuners, ivoroid body and fretboard binding, abalone rosette and microdot fret markers, bound ebony fretboard, and ebony bridge.

Bob Taylor personally designed the Grand Symphony body style for a unique sound. The higher, wider waist and a rounder lower bout you get in the GS8 guitar result in distinctive tone with deep piano-like bass, rich mids, and clear, balanced highs-all with plenty of volume.

GS equals "Great Sound\

I recently purchased a Taylor GS (Rosewood Spruce with the expression system) It's the first guitar I've acquired in the last fifteen years. (I also own 3 Martins, and 2 Gibsons) Okay, I'm old and have been playing for a long time. I have seen and heard Taylor guitars for years now and never thought of getting one until I saw and played the new GS series. I settled on the Rosewood-Spruce because of it's beauty of sound and appearance, it is just a treat to play. Great response and a tone found in no other guitar I own. Sure the other guitars have beautiful voices of their own but I've found that the Taylor GS is really something fresh and inviting. It's beckons one to "pick me up and play me" and the workmanship clearly belies the price tag.The Taylor family should be very proud of thier new baby.

Beste guitar in this price range!

I can confidently say that Taylor GS Rosewood/Spruce top is better than any other taylor guitars between 100-900 series. First, it was a small neat-looking body with gloss. Rosewood on the back looks fantastic and very warm. The sound is what I like the best. It has very strong sound projection from its small body. It sound very crispy and also provides me bass sound. This is the best well-balanced high/mid/low guitar ever. I installed LR Baggs iMix pickup which I believe is one of the best. It is the best guitar for finging picking and also strong strumming.
