  Let me start by saying i am a beginner. My wife bought me a Yamaha f310 several years ago and though it is a very nice guitar for the price i was never able to get into the process of learning to play. About 4 months ago I bought this GS Mini and I haven't put it down yet. I love this thing. No, I'm not an expert by any stretch. What I do know is this thing has given me the desire to learn. Thank you Taylor! I'm going to Guitar Center today to look at another Taylor. Did I say I love this guitar? I have a friend that is a musician and has been recording for years that likes this thing also. Again... THANK YOU TAYLOR.

• Taylor GS Mini

  I'm a beginner guitar player and looked at alot of guitars before I made my choice. I knew when I picked up this baby it was the one. I've had it for a few months now and I love it even more. It more than exceeds my needs as a player and look forward to growing with it for years to come. The quality, look, feel and sound is great ! I was very pleased with GC customer service.

• Best "couch" guitar

  A friend at work had a 3/4 Fender Starcaster acoustic gifted to him and I offered to replace a missing nut, string it and tune it for him since he had no idea what to do. After finishing it on a Saturday, I found myself sitting on the couch with it in my lap all day and in to the evening. Anytime I left it alone my son would pick it up and hang onto it for hours. Just because of the size it was just so easy to sit there in the couch with the guitar on your lap and plink away with it. Well by the time Sunday came around I didn't want to give this thing back. It looked like a toy but didn't sound half bad. By mid way through Sunday I found myself reading reviews of Baby Taylors, Mini Martins, and 3/4 Yamahas. My mind was pretty well made up to just run down to my local GC and pick up a $120 Yamaha and be done with it, and just live with the thing sound. It really didn't bother me that much. Then I started running into commenters mentioning the GS Mini, and every one stating it was a few orders of magnitude superior to all the others. Well they were right. I took my son with me to GC (he can play and I can't) and let him play the Mini while I listened. On top of the it was on sale. They had one more in stock in the back so I made them pull that one out and compared the floor model and the example fresh out of the box. I couldn't hear any difference between the two and neither could my son. So I selected the one that looked the best and that was that. After we got home we played the GS Mini, and the Fender side by side. Suddenly the starcaster sounded like the toy it was and the GS Mini sounded like a full size guitar. Well we have a full size Fender which we also pulled out for a side by side shoot out and the Mini sounded ever bit as good as the full size. Granted it isn't a high end guitar but it is full size and is a pretty good sounding example. Anyway I don't think this thing can really be compared to other 3/4 guitars, it's just that much better. If you like playing on the couch while watching football or whatever then I would highly recommend the GS Mini. Assuming you can afford the extra $$ for it of course. Aside from the sound the fit and finish, and playability is that of a mid range guitar. I'm learning to play and while I could easily have lived with a lesser guitar, but I am still very happy I chose this.
