The Taylor GC7 Rosewood/Cedar Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar has volume that belies its size. The slotted peghead and short-scale neck deliver a more "woody" tone and an unbelievably easy feel on the fretboard. The time-honored tone of an Indian rosewood and Western Red cedar pairing is a mainstay of nearly every high-end guitar builder.   • Perfect, intimate and detailed.

    I just got mine yesterday after looking at over 100 others. This guitar just seems to fit perfectly. As we all know, it's all about tone. This guitar has a full sound from highs to lows. Taylor is known for their ease of playability but this guitar is easier to play than others. It's a slightly smaller scale with a perfect neck. It seems as though they have taken the best qualities from several other guitars and put them together in this GC7. If the sound or ease of play don't get you, the beauty and size of the guitar definately will. It's avery quiet an intimate guitar. Great for small homegroup settings or peaceful personal devotion time. Over all this is a great guitar that fits in well with all of my Martins, Goodalls and Collings.

  • Taylor vs Martin

    I have been playing my new Taylor GC7 for about a week now and the previous reviewer has covered a lot of the good things about the GC7. I have owned several high end Taylors and also a couple of high end Laravees plus I now have two Martin OM bodied guitars. One is the new OM1 and the other is the OMC Aura. In playing the Martin OMC and the GC 7 side by side I have concluded that they sound amazingly similar in playing all styles. I strum and fingerpick worship music as well as classical and folk. It is high praise to say the Taylor sounds a lot like the Martin. The only difference I can detect is that the Martin might be just a little brighter, but the difference is very small. Also the Martin might just sound very slightly meatier in the mids. The Martin is 4 years old so the comparison is somewhat unfair as the Taylor will probably open up some with time. The big difference is the scale length and my small hands like the Taylor scale as I don't have to reach as far for those tough bars. Both the Taylor and the Martins are very load even compared to many Dreadnaughts I have heard. In conclusion I believe most any player would like the way the GC7 sounds plus it is tasteful and classic in appearance. The Guitar Center is a top store with great employees that have been most helpful to me, a very fussy customer.

  • Oh My God!!!

    I went into my GC and my buddy and i were just playing together. then i picked up this! Only three words can describe it...Oh My God!!! the tone is unbelievable and it has very good resonance. This guitar may very well be one of the best sounding acoustics that I've ever played! If you have the chance, i would defiantly go pick one up! You won't regret it.
