A perfect travel companion with a Sitka spruce top and full Taylor tone.

The Big Baby Taylor Acoustic Guitar is the Baby Taylor's big sibling, a 15/16-scale Dreadnought with a solid Sitka spruce top and sapele back and sides. It boasts a surprisingly full voice, comes with a lightweight gig bag for easy portability, and makes a trusty companion wherever you go - even if it's just to the couch.

Sapele/Solid Sitka
Laminated sapele backs and sides and a solid spruce top make for crisp and well-defined sound in this versatile mid-priced guitar.

15/16-Size Dreadnought
Measuring just a fraction smaller than a full-size Taylor Dreadnought, the Big Baby is small enough to be a perfect travel companion, yet big enough to be a trusty performer.

  • Dang!!

As reviewed by Minjae James Chung on 11/5/2012

For some reason almost everyone i know says the Big Baby sounds better then the 110 and the 120 which is crazy considering the price of the BB. It's not one bit an exageration! It has an unbelievable resonance and very nice balance of low and high, although as most Taylors are a bit more towards the high. It also has a very thin neck allowing a really soft touch! I carry around my MARTIN DCME a lot performing in public places, as much i love her i have to admit she's heavy. But the BBT being smaller is a looot more lighter really is a load off my shoulders. I would recommend this guitar to pretty much anyone, especially to those who want to own a Taylor but don't have the cash. A million times worth more than other guitars sold at the same price!

  • amazing guitar

As reviewed by Jithin Varghese on 7/9/2012

i played this guitar at samash musical center, and it was purely thee best guitar ive ever played in all my life. People may be wondering why it sounds so much better than a martin. Taylors sound better because the wood that Taylor companies make are the best woods out there. Taylors give more of a treble tone to it. martin guitars have more bass in it. i would highly recommend this guitar.

  • Amazing guitar - It's a Taylor fit to play!

If your looking for a guitar that has a great sound, feel, and for the price, you found the right guitar. Don't let the size fool you! I just recently purchase this guitar a few days ago at my local Guitar Center. After playing on a few low end to mid range Martins and a few Taylor models such as the 110,114,210,and a 214, I saw the Big Baby and was not going to give it a chance. Mainly because of the size compared to a regular size acoustic. I gave it a shot and WOW! I could not believe this guitar would sound this great! This Taylor has a great tone, I would say somewhat more bright than bassy like Martins yet it's not too bright like some of the other acoustics I own. Very easy to play and comfortable. The action was perfect, easy to pick, finger pick and strum! I also tried the Taylor Mini GS and I will say even though the mini is designed and ready for pick-ups to be installed, I would go with the Big Baby. You can still add pick-ups later if you decide too at a reasonable cost. I also own several Electric guitars from 81'Gibson Les Paul Custom Deluxe to Fender Strat and a few Ibanezs. My acoustic brands I own is Yamaha FX370CE (also purchased from G.C.), Fender DG14CE and Takamine CE, and several vintage non-electric Yamahas and Washburns. Go to your local Guitar Center and try this guitar out for yourself you will be amazed!
