The incredible tone of the Taylor 914-CE Grand Auditorium Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar is enhanced by stunning looks that includes ivoroid binding with an abalone-edged top and rosette! There are also elegant fretboard, bridge, and headstock inlays; a bound ebony fretboard and headstock; Gotoh 510 antique gold tuners; and an integrated ivoroid heel cap and back binding. The Taylor 914-CE has Advanced Taylor Expression System electronics with patented Dynamic Sensors providing an amazingly accurate reproduction of all that sweet tone.
The only thing you can fault this guitar for is its expense is that it doesn't cost $100 bucks. I assure you, even though you're talking about a lot of money, THIS GUITAR IS WORTH IT! I played everything you could imagine from high end Guild's to Larrivee's and even Collings's comparable instruments which of course were more expensive. When it was all said and done I just liked the particular 914-CE that I ended up buying the best, and really it wasn't a hard decision for me. That is not to say I didn't really like the other guitars, but I just love my Taylor. I have 4 other acoustics and outside of coming across a winning lotto ticket where I could spring for like a James Goodall or a specialty piece like that, I will be hard pressed to ever buy anything else but a Taylor. The Taylor 914-CE is simply a fantastic guitar, and I feel lucky to own one.

I was lucky enough to come across a large sum of money, and I planned on spending it on a few guitars. This was the acoustic I picked up. I wanted the engleman spruce top on the 914 vs. the sitka on the 814 for its warmth, which goes very well with the rosewood sides. It still is very snappy, but also has a wonderful smoothness perfect for any type of music. I love my 914, and hopefully if youre lucky enough to get one, you will too

Second Taylor that I own...first six string. Tone is rich with plenty of low end. Expression system is much easier to operate than the pocket blender in my 955. Plays great straight from Taylor. I adjusted the truss rod to lowwer the action slightly (personal preference). I look forward to watching the wood age and the sound to only become better...hard to believe that it could get better. I recommend spending the extra $$$ this guitar. Never settle for less than the best.
