  • WOW. Taylor 414-CE

As reviewed by Spencer P. on 5/24/2010

I recently bought my self a new 414 and I cannot believe after all the years why I would even bother with any other guitar. I checked out a number if others, like the Gibson J-185,which is one o my favorites, and this Taylor is the best sounding guitar I've ever played. Its a beautiful guitar and gets me a lot of compliments. Its simple electronics are the purest I've heard in a long time. Everything about this guitar makes me wanna pay it 24/7. Thanks to all the people at Guitar Center, I am very pleased with my new "baby".

  • Another Great Taylor Guitar

As reviewed by Murphy22 on 10/12/2006

I purchased my Taylor 414-CE in January of 2006 and instantly fell in love with it. I never thought that I would find a reasonably priced new guitar that sounded good plugged in or unplugged. It has a great tonal quality through the entire range. I compare the sound of it to my 1959 Gibson J-50 with its warm lows, strong mids, and bright highs. The expression system is a great new innovation from Taylor. It offers an amazing amount of control from just three unobtrusive knobs (Bass, Treble, and Volume). Whether you want to run partial volume, or full wide open, it still produces a great sound. Many other guitars I?ve played begin to fade out at lower volumes or distort at higher volumes. Not the case with this Taylor. Quality is one of the first things you will notice when you pick up your 414-CE. It has a nice feel in your hands. The action is perfect, and the woods used look great. I love the combination of the Sitka Spruce top and the Ovankol sides and back. The Maple neck and Ebony fretboard finish the neck off nicely. You can always tell that a guitar is of great quality when you can leave it in the case for a couple of weeks and return to find it still in tune! This is a great guitar that I would recommend for any serious, but budget-minded musician.

  • Love my Taylor!

As reviewed by Moore5150 on 8/23/2006

Let me start by saying that I am in love with my Taylor. The model I ordered came with the older "Blender" system that allows me to shape my tone in a number of different ways. I prefer the 414 series as they have a much thinner finish on the top. I feel that this helps the guitar to ring more open and sound better. Plus it just looks cooler in my opinion. I have never played a better feeling acoustic guitar in my life, and I think many will agree that Taylor makes an amazing product!
