Elegant appointments with gorgeous ovangkol sides and back.

With similar sonic characteristics to rosewood and exotic visual appeal, the ovangkol back and sides add crisp projection to the solid spruce top's warm tone. Taylor's unique bridge and precision-dressed fretboard are of silky ebony and the neck is tropical American mahogany. Expression System electronics with tone controls capture top and string vibration perfectly. White wood binding and stable chromeplated Taylor tuners provide brilliant visual highlights.

good compromise

The 410ce in acoustic mode lacks a strong bottom end even though the top end and mid range will compare to ANY other acoustic guitar in ANY price range. While using the electronics will more than overcome this acoustic shortcoming, don't expect strong bass in acoustic mode.

Something Different ?

Playing a Taylor is like confiding in your old friend, but this old friend has a new twist. I've never played an ovangkol guitar before and, needless to say, I was impressed. It does take on many of the characteristics of rosewood, but brighter. It's not overpowering but different, especially when amplified. The Expression System really brings out the sound personality of the instrument. It's a gem!!!

Taylor 410-ce

I bought this Taylor in the summer of 2005 and I drained my life savings on it. I'm a very active musician and I'm only 13, but this Taylor you can compare with a Martin and the Taylor would probably win. It is so nice with the Expression system and I love this guitar dearly. I will probably never sell it and just add it to my collection along with my Les Paul. I use it for chapel woeship at my school, sunday morning worship at my church, and when I lead my youth band on wednesday nights. It is great for fingerpicking or flat picking and sounds amazing unplugged or plugged in, especially if you can get a good mix. It is a very versatile guitar and everyone who plays it says it is wonderful.

Went for a Martin, left with this Taylor!

After 6 months of shopping and playing 20 different acoustics numerous times (while using a borrowed Martin D18), I kept going back the the Taylor. My 23 year old Gibson SJ200 took a tumble down the stairs and suffered greatly. I never thought I'd find another acoutsic with solid range. Although not as deep in the low end as my old friend, the balance and ease of finger/flat picking is unreal. There are tones I've never heard in some tunes I've played hundreds of times. The guitar feels like it's a part of me when playing. Sorry Gibson and Martin, Taylor has the upper hand! A true beauty.

sweet

I bought this guitar a few years back in '05. Well I have to say, this is the best acoustic guitar I have ever played on. I bought the 410ceL7, so it has the Indian Rosewood back and sides with a Sidka Spruce top, if you like the good low range I suggest trying one out, you can play anything you want on it really, blues, folk, southern rock, rock, metal it's all good, sounds great try it out
