Big solid-spruce sound from a comfortable, gorgeous instrument with cutting-edge electronics.

This beautiful classic sings loud and proud but nestles easily on your knee. Solid Sitka spruce top for that famous Taylor wide-open tone slightly darkened by African mahogany back and sides. Gorgeous ebony bridge and fretboard, black wood binding, and satin finish with a gloss top make it a striking presence onstage. Rupert Neve-designed Expression System electronics with Dynamic Sensors and tone controls capture top and string vibration like never before.

  • Solid Sitka spruce top
  • Sapele back and sides
  • Ebony fretboard and bridge
  • Indian rosewood headstock overlay
  • Expression System electronics
  • Chromeplated Taylor tuners

Great Guitar

This guitar has a great Expression system. I've been playing 314ce for more than a year now. I've performed at churches and bars and the Expression system works like a charm. I bought the guitar for around $1,400 (when it's on sale), coming free with a case and an amp. I love it. The bridge is easy to shift and slide on, however, gets easily damaged. Never put a 314ce by a bed or lean it against a wall. It will scratch the neck. That's the only problem. As long as you be careful with the beauty, it's a great instrument with a great tone as long as you change the string every three to four months. You don't have to use the Elexir string that comes with it. I just use Martin strings. Work just the same and for a lot cheaper price.

Outstanding Guitar

This guitar has a heavenly sound. It doesn't matter if it is plugged into a system or if its all acoustic, this guitar's sound is breathtaking. I've played these guitars for years and i plan on buying one for myself very soon. Great, great guitar. You will not be dissapointed in this investment.

Best guitar for the money

I own several guitars but had never spent more than 600 dollars on one. I was looking for "that guitar" that I would really love to play and I was willing to spend a few dollars for one that I was really proud of. As I began searching, playing everything that I could get my hands on, I kept coming right back to this Taylor. The sound just seems so right to my ears. It is well put together. It isn't anything flashy with lots of adornment, but it looks and feels really good. This is one guitar that I will never get rid of or feel like I can't take anywhere and be proud to play.

Taylor Guitars-Awesome!

I have owned this guitar for 3 months now and love it. I think Taylor makes fantastic guitars. I settled on the 314-CE after playing many different makes and models. I always seemed to go back to the 314-CE because it was in my price range and it was just a very playable guitar. Plugged in it sounds great with the Expression System, but you loose nothing in sound playing unplugged. Looks, feel, sound, and quality of this guitar is fantastic! Spend the extra money and buy this guitar and you will be glad you did. With an instrument that sounds and plays like the Taylor 314-CE you will not want to put it down!

Beautiful long lasting guitar

I bought this guitar as soon as it got to stores. I've been playing it non-stop since then, and it cannot match any other guitars. I've tried playing other name brands and this one beat them. If you want to buy your first Taylor, make this one it.
