A finely-made performance guitar with a solid spruce top, sapele back and sides, and Taylor Expression System electronics.

The all-solid Taylor experience continues with the updated 2012 314ce Sapele/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar. Crisp, black binding flanks the satin-finish sapele back and sides and glossy Sitka spruce top, and then continues up the fretboard. The 300 Series is truly the performer’s workhorse, combining technology and craftsmanship with understated style. A Grand Auditorium body, Venetian cutaway, and the Taylor Expression System™ add up to a versatile guitar that's perfect for stage and home.

The warm tone and open midrange of sapele balances the bright and snappy characteristics of a Sitka spruce top. The resulting combination provides the perfect guitar for strong, rhythmic playing styles.

Grand Auditorium (GA)
The GA is Taylor’s most versatile and popular shape, excelling at light-touch fingerstyle to full-blown strumming. Great for miking and recording, the GA’s balanced mid-range and bright tone exemplify the Taylor voice.

Expression System
Using proprietary pickup technology developed at Taylor, the Expression System amplifies your guitar with an unrivaled, natural live sound. Onboard tone controls provide added flavor, or set flat for an uncolored, exceptionally-clean amplified sound. It’s your tone. Amplified.

  • beats martin gpcpa4

As reviewed by Alex Barcic on 11/12/2012

This Taylor is amazing. It beats it's competitor the martin gpcpa4 by far. The neck is a bit slimmer than the martin, so its easier to play on. Also, it feels like a guitar over one grand. The martin felt cheap, the expression system is also better than Martin's Fishman analog system. Overall, a great acoustic guitar.

  • Electrified Acoustics

As reviewed by Randall Scott on 4/9/2013

I love this Taylor Guitar. It is Beautiful in Wood Construction and has real quality in note tones - playing either just plain Acoustic or Acoustic Electrified. String notes have the utmost clarity that you will certainly experience if you like to finger pick like me. The feature I think that makes Taylor unique and very difficult to compete with, is the blend of mounted transducers in the fingerboard, saddle, and box cavity - with the flexability to mix.

  • Sweet sounding guitar

As reviewed by John Juliano on 12/31/2012

I have an old Ovation 6 string for over 30 years and decided to upgrade to a higher end guitar I was going to spend $600.00 to $800.00 on a guitar but the guitars in that range would not have been an upgrade, they looked nice but played and sounded poor. The sales person then handed me the Taylor 314ce and I fell in love and then looked at the price, choked a little but it was too late. The guitar played smoothly and sounded great whether playing it softly and really jamming. Guitar center also fine tuned it before I bought the guitar and it was even better. It is a great sounding and a great playing guitar, I am defiantly not disappointed.
