An affordable grand auditorium with a solid spruce top, sapele laminate back and sides, and Taylor ES-T electronics.

Like the 200 Series, the 114ce Sapele/Spruce Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar incorporates laminate back and sides, which offer extra resilience to fluctuating climate conditions, and a slightly narrower 1 11/16-inch neck. It's one of the best full-size guitars you'll find for the money, especially with the availability of Taylor's ES-T pickup. It makes a viable performance tool, a great entry-level guitar, or a second utility guitar for alternate tunings.

As a guitar soundboard, or top, Sitka spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. It's used on 85-90 percent of the guitars that Taylor makes. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. Sitka spruce is Bob Taylor's personal favorite for an all-around great guitar.

Grand Auditorium (GA)
The GA is Taylor's most versatile and popular shape, excelling at light-touch fingerstyle to full-blown strumming. Great for mic'ing and recording, the GA's balanced mid-range and bright tone exemplify the Taylor voice.

Taylor ES-T
Devloped by the same Taylor team that invented the Expression System pickup, the Taylor ES-T Under-Saddle Transducer takes piezo technology to another level. Optimized for the 100 and 200 Series, the system features onboard Bass, Treble, and Volume controls plus custom-voiced EQ and dynamic response.

Includes gig bag.

  • Excellent Buy!

As reviewed by Ana Hale on 11/7/2012

This Taylor is a great guitar. I have had it for one and a half years and it is still in the same quality as when i got it. As a player that plays at least 2 to 3 hours a day i am very impresed. It is a nice light weight and the electric is amazing. I really suggest you buy this guitar

  • Just amazing!

As reviewed by Nicholas Henry on 4/23/2013

I'm by no means an expert guitarist but I've been playing for about 4 years and decided it was time to upgrade from my old Yamaha. After searching for months, going to various music stores to play around on multiple guitars, looking at reviews, and asking other guitar friends I finally decided on the Taylor 114ce. I love the bright clear sound it gives! It compares, and if not exceeds, almost any other guitar near its price range (I considered buying up to $1200). I haven't had it long enough to know its durability but it seems to be good in this area. All in all a great guitar and you won't be disappointed. So in short, Pros: -Excellent sound! Very clear and bright! -Came ready to go from factory (Elixir 80/20 bronze strings with nanoweb coating) -Great look and feel -Included gig bag was much better than I expected Cons: -Basically nothing, but not having a built in tuner can be annoying Don't waste your time doing any more searching, just buy this one. You will not be disappointed.

  • A M A Z I N G !

As reviewed by DANIEL on 12/2/2014

My son bought me this guitar for a retirement gift because he was afraid that one day I would steal his. I am an avid guitar collector with over 40 guitars in my collection and I can honestly say that NONE of them has the tonal quality of this Taylor! I have guitars made by Gibson, Fender, Martin, Ovation, Ibanez, Washburn, Takamine, and several other brands and I can say without hesitation that the tonal quality and playability of this Taylor 114ce is at the VERY TOP of my list of instruments. I could not be happier!
