Comments about Tascam DP-24SD 24-Track Digital Portastudio:

Old man Interested in recording to improve my musical abilities. Previously used a Fostex 4 track cassette recorder years and years ago. Wanted to,once again, explore recording creativity. Guitar Center could not have possibly been any more helpful. Ordering was a breeze. THE PRICE WAS RIGHT! This portastudio does more than I'll ever use. It's been unboxed for 3 days. Ordered the foot switch (RC3F). Waiting for a pair of Tascam VL-S5 powered monitors to arrive. Just purchased quality headphones because "I HAD TO TURN IT ON". Absolutely a quality piece of recording equipment! Followed relatively simple manual direction and recorded 1st track today. Now if only the phone would stop ringing!!! I'm excited. Thanks "GUITAR CENTER"!

Great 24 multi-track machine for those who still want to go old school and actually play instruments and not just assign sounds to a keyboard etc.

Comments about Tascam DP-24SD 24-Track Digital Portastudio:

Through the years I played the computer recording game, but recently realized how time consuming updates, driver issues, latency and endless software options have become. My recordings have been used on HBO, TLC & Telemundo TV Shows, I've sold thousands of CD's and I've recorded, produced and mixed everything on my own. This Tascam is highly recommended because there is NO delay - hit record and set your levels and go!! This is assuming you have the right mics, pre-amps and knowledge. I'm currently producing a 20-song CD for a giant retailer and I've already recorded 6 songs in 3 days! Get it got it GOOD!!!

Comments about Tascam DP-24SD 24-Track Digital Portastudio:

This recorder ended almost a decade of frustration overnight. Yeah, I'm tech savvy enough, but I've struggled with PC based recording since it first hit the market. After spending bags of cash and uncounted hours of my life trying to resolve incompatibility issues, hardware integration problems and complete a master-ready project, I finally gave up and ordered this unit. In one session, I was able to complete a demo project. Something I haven't ever accomplished with the PC. I laid down the tracks using the intuitive hardware controls. I used mics, MIDI inputs and direct line inputs. I mixed it down and nothing disappeared into some hidden reservoir of broken electrons. I produced a finished product that sounded great on playback. My only regret? I wish I had all the wasted hours back. There was music lost via the PC that I will never recover. I think the bottom line is this: If you are a musician who wants to create music first and recording is the tool you use to get there, this low-cost high performance unit is for you. If you are a recording geek first and that's your focus, the PC will give you far more puzzles to solve and arcane technology to take out to the message boards. As for me, I would buy this unit again all day long. It delivers exactly what it promises as a price lower than a lot of software packages.
