Easy to Learn and Use

If you can operate a CD player, you can use the TASCAM CD-BT1mkII Portable CD Bass Trainer. Take any standard compact disc by your favorite band and put it in the CD mechanism. Then plug your bass directly into the CD-BT1mkII's 1/4" input. Put on some headphones, set the volume, and start rocking! If you're a vocalist, you can do the same, substituting your microphone for the guitar.

Slow Down and Learn with Slow Speed Audition feature

In ancient times (like the 1970s), musicians would take a vinyl LP record and manually spin the record on a turntable, slowing it down to be able to better hear and understand the performances, like bass solos and complex chord changes. With Tascam's CD-BT1mkII, you get a training method that's even better. Not only can you slow down the speed of the CD by up to 50%, but you can also do it without changing the pitch of the original material! After you learn the lick at a slow speed, you can increase the tempo in steps until you can match the original performance note for note. Also, you can change the pitch of the CD without changing the speed . . . use this feature to "tune the CD" to your instrument.

Effect Yourself

The CD-BT1mkII has 16 great-sounding built-in customizable bass effects . . . you don't need to turn to external boxes for chorus, EQ, and more. The Bass Boost and Enhance settings allow you to boost the bass part so that you can hear it better, and Bass Cut lets you mute the original so you can play along.

Performance Tools

You can set seamless in-out loop points with the CD-BT1mkII . . . it will play the same section of music over and over again so you can focus on your playing. Use the footswitch input to start and stop the CD or to scroll through effects. The CD-BT1mkII even provides a chromatic tuner so you always sound great when you play, and it can run on batteries to take your show on the road. You can listen to the CD-BT1mkII via headphones or use its Line Output to plug in speakers.

Great All In One Tool

By Kevmove

Comments about TASCAM CD-BT1mkII Portable CD Bass Trainer:

When I saw the Bass Trainer, I was a bit skeptical. Why would I buy a portable CD that can slow down a CD when I could just use my laptop to do the same thing (Hal Leonard has such a program included in their "Play Along" Series). Is having a Cd Trainer/Pocket Amp worth an extra $100? What won me over was the fact that it includes several IN/OUT ports, which I thought would be useful. Tascam products are pretty good, but they outdid themselves with this product. There are so many features included: Tuner, Sound FX processor, Programmable Loop, and so much more. In fact, I find myself using the other features more often than I use the CD Trainer! The only downside is you have to buy the power supply or you will spend a ton of money on batteries.

Comments about TASCAM CD-BT1mkII Portable CD Bass Trainer:

I'm amazed at how often I use this. Some of my favorite features are using it to slow down a CD to learn a part. I alos use it to change the key of a song to practice it in a differnt key. I also take it travelling with me and use it for practicing. It can go through a lot of batteries so I use mine with an external power supply.

amazing practice tool i felt like i was having a band practice with boston

Comments about TASCAM CD-BT1mkII Portable CD Bass Trainer:

i bought this product at a labor day sale and thought it would be pretty interesting, and i was right. the greatest thing i like about this is using the "bass cut" control. because with this you can get very VERY creative. some bands bass lines are just boring and i want to put my own twist to the songs so i pop in the cd cut out the bass of the song and do the bass how I like it. and if your having trouble with a part you can slow it down and do it slower and gradually move to your speed. i also like the fact that it has a tuner built in. very handy. on the downside it takes up many batteries, and i would like it if the "bass cut" control took the bass out a lil better.
