Product Information

CD-quality recording with no menus to stand between you and your music!

TASCAM's DP-02 makes recording simple by matching 8-track CD-quality recording with a Portastudio interface-so you can ditch the menus and concentrate on the music. A pair of record-quality TASCAM mic preamps features XLR inputs with phantom power for condenser mics and a guitar input for direct recording. Each channel gives you dedicated controls for instant access to fader level, record arm/track mute, pan, effect send, high and low EQ. There's also an EQ frequency button for finer control over the mix.

Two effects processors are included in the DP-02. A multi-effects processor on the input provides great-sounding overdrive, flange, delay, and more for your guitar, vocal, drum and bass tracks. In addition, there's a reverb processor on a send and return for adding hall, room, plate, or chamber reverb to your mix. The DP-02 is loaded with great TASCAM extras like a chromatic tuner, metronome, and bar-and-beat display for getting around your song.

The DP-02 records two channels at a time to a built-in 40GB hard drive. When you're satisfied with your production, arm the dedicated master track for your stereo mixdown. You can transfer your tracks and mixes or backup your song to a computer through a speedy USB 2.0 connection or burn it to a CD with the slot-loading drive. No other workstation makes recording so simple, affordable and fun as the TASCAM DP-02.

Order with the protection of our 30-day lowest price and total satisfaction guarantees.

Nice Recordings

Just bought this yesterday at Guitar Center. After about 30-40 minutes of reading the manual and going trial and error I started recording my first tracks. In about 3 hours I had my first complete song mixed and burned to a cd (using 6 tracks). Took the cd out to my truck and it sounded great. This is my first recording device so I was a little intimidated by the technology. After you get used to it it is a breeze and sounds great to me. The effects are not to bad either. I recorded all instruments direct in and used the effects. I also recorded my electric drum kit and it sounded great too. Overall so far I am happy with this unit.

FInally a Fun, User Friendly, Recorder!!

If you are the hands-on recording type, this recorder is for you!! Simple and easy to use so you can concentrate on making music NOT spending hours learning menus. The manual is VERY helpful and well written. The sound quality is great and the effects are a plus. This recorder has made recording fun for me. I would like to see a version 2 with a larger screen and maybe 4 track at once recording instead of two. This purchase has made me a life long Tascam customer.

Great for The Price

I bought this about 3 months ago and it is worth every penny. It is easy to use and burn Cd's with. The only bad thing is that you can only record 2 instruments at once, so this isn't great for bands. Otherwise it works great.

Hot Little Portable Studio

I just picked up this awesome little digital recorder from the Guitar Center today and only after an hour of setting up and reading the manual I burned my first CD! For those who are not looking for more than two mic inputs at once, this is the item for you. I own all the instruments from guitars, bass, electronic drums, and a decent mic that I use at home to perform and record on the tascam DP-02 with excellent results. The feature I see that the is the most helpful are the EQ dials dedicated to each track input that can be adjusted and seen without a pop-up menu! The manual reads straight forward and burning to an audio CD was very easy and fast too!Hopefully this review helps those looking for something like the tascam DP-02 with a built-in 40 Gigabyte hard drive and CD-R/RW burner. The only real difference I see with the Boss recorders or other similar recorders is the lack of an onboard drum pad setup, which I didn't need anyway. Keep on living out your dreams and get over to Guitar Center today.

Cool!

I only used analog equipment when recording and finally bought this unit. There is a bit of a learning curve and once you learn it, it's great! A little complicated if you follow the manual, but that's only because it's a new way to do what I used to do with tape.
