    Comments about Tannoy Reveal 402:

I have a very small room and I play around with FL. Studio using these, I'm into Hip Hop, The low end on these is better than I expected, my first reaction was-whoa! I keep the volume on these in the center kind of scared to turn them all the way up cuz I heard a few pops on the sub bass/kicks although centered is loud enough to satisfy me plugged directly into my laptop with my PC volume all the way up and my FL.Studio volume back and forth, the highs sound nice to for 5" tweeters, I mostly make beats using my headphones so I only tried these out three times so far: we'll see how they hold up over time but so far I am glad I chose the Tannoy's.

These monitors are amazing. Great clarity and overall fidelity. I've had them for 2 years now and they continue to impress me. Excellent bass as well, especially for their size. Great for recording / mixing or general listening too. I love them and so will you. If this size suits your needs, you won't be disappointed whatsoever.

        Comments about Tannoy Reveal 402:

Excellent backup studio speakers. I use these alongside my yamaha hs8s to compare mixed tracks. They are darker sounding than the yamahas but are closer to what you would get in everyday car speakers, etc which gives a good real world reference. They are still bright and lively enough for casual listening and the bass response is plenty deep. The sound is focused with enough separation to record professional tracks and they seem especially tuned to guitar/midrange which is useful. Great deal! Highly recommended!

Nice tones on low/moderate volumes. Breaks up at max volume

        Comments about Tannoy Reveal 402:

Easy to use and great tones. Hook up was simple. Controls are simple. Con, is that product sound skips at max volumes. I tried various tone changes to allow higher volumes without the breakup, but could not find that setting. My application is for moderate volumes so it does a great job for my needs. If I needed max volume, however, I would have returned it.

Sweet Clarity and Big Bang for your Buck!!!

        By Paul Monico

        from Los Angeles CA

        Comments about Tannoy Reveal 402:

The Tannoy Reveal 402 studio monitors push a whole lot of power within a tiny footprint. These monitors are perfect for mixing guitar and vocals, or pretty much anything that doesn't require too much low-end frequency. I use these in my home studio, next to some big 8" monitors, which pack the bass, but don't offer quite enough color to the mix. When I bounce a track and hear it in the car or home stereo, I have to go back and fine-tune it because the large monitors can be deceiving. When I switch over to the Tannoys, the vocals, drums, synths, and guitars reveal a whole new side to the sound. These monitors depict an accurate representation of what the song will sound like in almost any environment. I play, produce, and mix all types of genres: Rock, Hip Hop, Reggae, Dubstep, Electro, Pop. It?s important for me to get an accurate mix of the song fairly quickly. Sitting in the sweet spot gives me the true character of the sound. These definitely have changed the way I work with music! A cool feature that the Reveal 402?s have is the 1/8? audio cable that plugs directly into the back of one of the monitors, and they?re linked together by another audio cable. I can conveniently plug in my iPhone, iPad, or Macbook Pro for a quick reference of a song to compare my mix to, or just to play some music while I?m working on something else. These monitors have a very sleek design, and don?t take up very much space on the desk. They come equipped with a soft foam pad on the bottom to buffer the space between the monitor and the surface they sit on. This makes for a very clean output. These monitors have multiple uses in my studio. I even plug my Roland Fantom G6 workstation into them when I want to work out some sounds, or even produce using the Fantom?s DAW. I would go as far to say that these would be the perfect sized monitors to take on the road. When I?m out on tour, all I need is my Fantom G6 and these monitors to make amazing music on the go. You can?t ask for more in a portable studio! Tannoy has really impressed me, but it?s no surprise given the reputation and quality of products they?ve been producing for decades. Trust Tannoy! I might have to trade in my current 8? monitors for the Reveal 802?s. They also have a midsized Reveal 502 monitor available. The price point on these for the quality is amazing. Musicians rejoice!!!

        Great little low-power speakers

        By Tom Kolb

        from Burbank

        Comments about Tannoy Reveal 402:

For the low price these are great little speakers for low-volume reference monitoring in the studio. A little heavy on the low end, but very musical in general. A nice plus is the "Monitor Link," which allows you to plug in a smart phone and link the speakers with a stereo patch cord (included). As a matter of fact, I often bring the speakers into the house and hook them up to my laptop. Perfect volume for iTunes and Spotify monitoring. I've also used the speakers to add ambience to my acoustic/electric guitar in intimate settings. My only complaint is you can't link the speakers from the 1/4" input, but you can use a small mixer (or a stereo effects pedal) to split your signal.

These little monitors are great. My first experience was in a 6 hour mixing session. They were wonderful. Enough power, great balance and powered. A big plus for me was my ears were not destroyed.

Can't beat these monitors for the money

        By Brandon Bernstein

        from Los Angeles

        Comments about Tannoy Reveal 402:

I just got a pair of Tannoy Reveal 402 monitors for my home office/studio. I am a professional jazz musician and educator and extremely picky when it comes to sound. I could not have been more impressed with these monitors. They are very small but deliver a powerful and balanced sound. The great sound is in a small compact classy monitor generated by the super-efficient 4? woofer and ultra-precise ?? tweeter. The tonal clarity of these monitors are remarkable, even when pushing the volume. (They go to 50 watts and maintain a great sound at the highest volume)! They aren't bass heavy like some monitors or sound thin at all, which I would have thought given their size. I especially like the aux in (IPod/Iphone/Android). You can easily transport the monitors in your home or workspace or take a monitor or both to a classroom or on a gig and play music from your phone with amazing sound quality. The monitors feature an EQ on the back that allows for a great sound no matter what room you are in. For the price I have not seen nor can I imagine a better monitor. Perfect for small studio and/or you want to something compact and easily transportable.
