The Tama TW100 Tension Watch measures actual head-not tuning rod tension-on an easy-to-read meter, so you can record the numbers and duplicate your best tuning time after time. Or you can use the sample tunings suggested in the directions. Either way, the Tama Tension Watch lets you spend more time playing and less time tuning your drums.

This made a big difference in my stage sound. I use DW's, so I really want to make sure that the "tone" between the drums has "steps". Tama Toner made it happen: Recommendation: The Toner comes with a recommended list of pressure setting for a drum kit. Ignore the list. Start by tuning your drum by ear, then use the Toner to fine tune.
This thing is perfect. I knew I was bad at tuning but WOW. My Mapex Pro M Kit sounds night and day different. The bass drum has so much more punch and the toms are way more focused. That ugly after-ring that I had always fixed with muffling is gone. WOW!
Should have bought one sooner a need for every drummer, saves time and helps you tune by ear.
Today i got my first drum set, and this tension watch. Well when i got the set it wasnt tuned very well at all, but once i put this tension watch on it and looked at the prefered tension setting in the manual, i had my drums tuned to perfection, my first time ever tuning a drum and i got them sounding sick, with very little ring, the snare drum is the best snare i have ever heard, definately get this product.
I love this thing SO much. All of my drums sound like professional drums and they're a beginners set. The chart that comes with this on what to tune your drums to isn't very good, download the Drumdial Drum Tuner manual off of their website, it's more accurate. I found that the best tuning setup is 72 for the top head and 70 for the bottom. You need to be very precise because every notch the needle goes over makes a big difference.
I've been playing drums for almost 20 years and i remember seeing the Tama TW100 on magazines and I've always wonder if it worked. Well...i bought one after watching the "Behind the Scenes" section on the latest Soda Stereo DVD and saw the drum technician tunning up the drums with the TAMA TW100. So now i'm loving it! my roadie can tune my drums to perfection! Really nice product.
