I like this stand b/c it has a very smooth pedal and is smaller than my previous stand. The reason I gave it 4 stars is b/c the nut slips alot. But, still avery good stand for the price!
This stand is very sturdy and stable. The only problem is that after playing washy hats for long sets the stand becomes less responsive. But if you have a tight budget this is a good stand.
Just like the title says, the DX Tama Swingstar hi-hat stand has held up for me for around 4 and 1/2 years now. I gave 4.5 quality cuse its stood for me that long. However its given a 4 cuse for one, its 3 legs which means I have hardly any room for my new Iron Cobras. It responds very nicely, smooth. Of course I have always played on this level of hi-hat stand. I'm saving for the higher Iron Cobra hi-hat. You can get this. However if you'll ever up-grade to doubles you'll have to by a new hi-hat stand. If you can try and save for the higher quality. However this is still a very durable hi-hat stand for anyone from beginners to possibly intermidate.
I got this stand with my swing star set about 3.5 years ago and have had no problems with it to date. I replaced the clutch with a Gibraltar drop clutch so I could use my double pedal and the hi hats at the same time but that?s the only thing I?ve done. This stand is very responsive and an excellent buy for the price. The only downside is that it has 3 legs which make it a little difficult to position a double pedal but the legs rotate so I haven?t had too much trouble. I do intend on replacing this stand with the iron cobra model when it comes to that but for a first stand this thing is excellent. It?s not the best out there but for the price I don?t know that you can get much better.
I have had this for 5 years and it has been disfunctional since I bought it. It makes the hi hats off center and it won't raise up at all so it stays as low as it goes. Spend a little extra and get a lot more quality.
This stand worked good for the first 5 months. Then the top of it started to bend and make the cymbals off centered. I would recomend this for a beginner but for someone who is a hard hitter like me I wouldn't buy this if I were you.
It is a very well put together stand. lasted me for 2 years.
Breaks often and is difficult to find parts to fix.
