Best Single Pedal By Far

By Josh Sword

from Kansas City, MO

This is by far, the best single pedal i've ever used. I've played all the pdp's the pearl's, nothing beats this pedal. The response time is remarkable. The power chain is a great invention, your spring will literally never break. The carrying case is great for a drummer in a touring band like myself. Also, the possibilities for footboard and beater angles are endless, which really makes the pedal your own.

Tama Iron Cobra Power Glides

By Tyler

from Stamford, New York

I have a double bass kit, and instead of using my PDP double pedal (which is stiff, and the springs don't want to do what you want them to do), so I bought two of these pedals, after trying the Pearl Demon Drive, the DW 9000, and DW 5000, and they had the double pedal set up so i tried it and was sold. When I set them up, it had the cobra coil, so it returns the footboard faster, I tried drumming in socks and it didn't feel right, so I grabbed my Converse and i was flying. I still have it set to the factory settings, but I just shortened the length of the beater. To do a roll I just jiggle my feet, and let the cobra coil do most of the work, whereas with my PDP double pedal, I would have to stomp hard and get psyched to use it. With this pedal my rolls are smoother, and not as choppy.

Tama Power Glide

By DrummerDave

Wow. This pedal kicks butt. I bought it and I was shocked at how much money i didn't have to spend for such a great product by Tama. This pedal can play pretty fast and has a great sense of control and power. Great job Tama!

HAIL TAMA!

By K

from fake land!

I've seriosuly used them all, DW, Pulse, Pacific, Pearl, Axis, THEM ALL! First off every pedal has something great about them like DW has that beautfiul fat beater same with Pearl, but Tama is the only pedal i can use without having to stretch crazy and be all psyched to use......it can take my wrath and nothing happens to it...sure you may have to oil it once and a while, it sort of is a piece of machinery, just look at some of the names who use these, (John Dolymayan, Jason Bittner, Dave Lombardo...the list goes on) I would only use PEarl if it weren't for these.....HELL YES!

Its comfortable, smooth, quick, powerful and the price Isn't bad at all! I was going to get the DW 7000 but I had a feeling about this one. You'll be amazed!

Solid, Fast, Reliable

By zimbop

from Southwest

The Iron Cobra is a solid performer with good speed and response. I switched from the Mapex pedal that came with my kit to the Cobra after trying all the others in the store--DWs, Gibraltars, Pearls, Yamaha, I tried them all and nothing felt as crisp and fast as this one. Works great and feels good underfoot. There are two downsides. Several different alan wrenches are required to adjust all the parts, if you buy it new you'll get a multitool with it, but when that's inevitably lost you'll be left searching for the right tools. Some other pedals use a drum key screw for adjustments, though even these use other heads for some less frequently used screws. Second, and this is both a pro and a con, the beater head is adjustable to select the vertical angle at which the beater contacts the head. While it might sound nice to be able to control this, it comes at a price. If it doesn't stay locked in place very well it can get loose while playing. This can be fixed by replacing the beater/arm--mine has a Gibraltar Lightweight and it works great. All in all, this is a great pedal. Mine has many many miles on it--the footboard is worn down from years of play and it's still going strong.

The most amazing pedal you will ever use

By WeAllFeedOnTragedy2577

from Lubbock, TX

I have had the Iron Cobra now for about 4 months and I have a double bass set, there for I have two single pedals and let me just say one thing, these pedals are the best pedals you will ever use. They have many features that stretch from the amount of pressure you have to apply to the pedal to make it kick to how far the beater is from the base. If you are looking for the easiest pedal to use and the most durable and high in class, then the Iron Cobra is for you.

Best pedal I've used...

By Ted Brogan

from NYC

If you are looking for a high end single pedal this is a GREAT pedal. I tried a DW 9000 and it didnt have the fast response the Iron Cobra has...you will be amazed at how easy it is to get your doubles kickin on this thing. The only problem is that the spring started to squeak a little from lots of use.
