Great Pedal! Best kept secret...

By Neekus

from UT

Comments about Tama Iron Cobra Jr. Twin Bass Drum Pedal:

All Tama pedals are outstanding performers, and at very reasonable prices. Very smooth, fast, strong/stable, consistent. Gotta love those cams! Really, really, good out of the box, but simply add the "cobra coils" optional accessory (standard on some models of IC), and you have yourself a truly exceptional pedal with most of the specs of it's older brother. For the heavy players needing the double chain, roller footboard and cam adjustment bearings, and a few extra adjustments, get the IC (Iron Cobra non-Jnr.), but for the rest of us mortals, this has (or can be made to have) the same feel, for quite a bit less! You won't really know how good it is until you take it home and make it yours...

I have used worse

By Kevin Patterson

from Forrest, Illinois

Comments about Tama Iron Cobra Jr. Twin Bass Drum Pedal:

I bought this pedal used at my local guitar center. I was kind of skeptical on the look. The clerk let me test it out. It felt ok when i tested it, but the tension was different, i changed everything on it, but the left hammer still moved slower than the right, it didnt have the same rebound. Can somebody either give me some professional advice on how to fix this? Otherwise i am going to take it back. Please give me some help if you could

Don't let these people FOOL you!!!

Comments about Tama Iron Cobra Jr. Twin Bass Drum Pedal:

don't let the lack of reviews bring you down. In fact, These double pedals are really really really good. And Im telling you the truth. I've tried DW 9000's Demon Drivers etc. and these Iron Cobra Jr's do the job real good! I've bought these about 3 months ago and OH MY can I go fast! Therefore, since this is a new manufactured Iron cobra Jr. it has more features! which is really good. With the new features you have the ability to adjust the pedals, and install the Cobra Coils just like daddy Cobras. My pedals didnt come with instructions but it doesn't take long to put on. In conclusion, I really love the sound and the speed these babies offer. I have nothing else to say but Excellent pedals,Go Fast,Sound awesome, and it Deliver's ! Go buy em' they are worth it !

Great, but there's still better out there

By caleb michael

Comments about Tama Iron Cobra Jr. Twin Bass Drum Pedal:

I love these pedals, but there are better out there. They are relatively smooth, easy to adjust, responsive, and easy to tear down/put together. The slave pedal attachment seems to come off if you goo too fast. It's happened to me a couple times during live performance which was a disaster. Also, the tension rods seem to be a weird size. Two or three of my drum keys don't seem to fit them. So you may need to play with which one's you use for it. I personally think the higher end DW pedals are better. I'd recommend the 9000. Much smoother, you can adjust alot more, and it's just as responsive. It is more expensive, but it's worth it. I would recommend this as a beginner pedal, and then save to upgrade to the DW 9000. These are great pedals, but they've just been outdone with more modern pedals.

Great For The Price

By Sterling Hershey

from Mountville, PA

Comments about Tama Iron Cobra Jr. Twin Bass Drum Pedal:

This pedal was my first double bass and I couldn't have been luckier. It is extremely adjustable and surprisingly smooth. My only complaint would have to be the design of the connecting bar but overall fantastic. I recently "upgraded" to the Iron Cobra P900 and I like this pedal better than the P900. Price sometimes doesn't mean quality, here's a perfect example.

My First Double Pedal

By Anthony Stantamaria

from Temecula, California

Comments about Tama Iron Cobra Jr. Twin Bass Drum Pedal:

I never thought I would have found a pedal that could make you go buy slacks which I don't intend on doing. But after buying these God-like absorbing foot smelters, my mind was changed indefinitely. After UPS dropped off the attached pedals soon to be in a simple brown cooling conductive, I opened to find what was inside only to be wrapped in the finest donkey scrotum juice... these pedals. And there you have it. I would not be typing up this ridiculous review if it wasn't short of the fauns' handle as the old saying goes. Do not even think about buying this product or not to buy it. Just put a few numbers in, and maybe a secret code on the back, and press order or yes, whatever is at the end of the online form to buy. All I remember after waking up the day when the box split open and a beam of light shone down upon it giving it an utmost powerful catharsis which on end seldom happens, I cried myself to sleep only to remember a faint smell. Yes the faint smell of sweet rolls with lightly spread Turkish jam my mother boiled in a stew when I was just a simple fetus in the womb which I later flew out of and ruined future yoga workouts and meetings of tempest whale sightings because I was a, "Simple Mistake(?)," whatever that means. In Hindsight "A" (yes grade A), buy of the next two years that I shall encounter with this behemoth of Zeus' left nut. And yes, I did buy a nice pair of slacks.

Best, I have bought

Comments about Tama Iron Cobra Jr. Twin Bass Drum Pedal:

Tampa always makes great hardware and this piece is no exception. It was easy to set up and easy to prepare for the beaters. I have seen the review of the beaters being a bit off. I was able to synchronize them. As I am a regular performer I am trying out the double bass aspects now. So, I am a beginner when it comes to this type of activity. However, I can assure you your money will not be wasted. In the instance you are an experienced player, hard performer and really can afford a higher priced one go ahead and get it. But, for this price point this is an excellent buy.

Comments about Tama Iron Cobra Jr. Twin Bass Drum Pedal:

I'm an intermediate Rock/Metal drummer and I'm learning to play jazz. This pedal lasted me about 2 years, and it was a great starter pedal. I learned a lot on it and used it every day that I could. I learned speed, and how to transport gear with this pedal. But, recently, I would go through about 10 minuets of double bass and the left pedal would fly off and hit me in the shins. The left also wasn't as fast as the right at times, and the springs didn't go up to a very high tension. At times I wanted it to go faster, (But, then, I am also an intermediate faking my way along to Slipknot songs, and getting annoyed when I can't figure out Jordison's 64th note runs, so...) But the speed I wanted wasn't possible on this pedal. I would recommend this pedal to any drummer learning, or Somebody with an electric drumset. This would not be a good pedal for any professional drummers, or somebody playing any fast, or extremely double bass-intensive music.
