Bought this stand a year ago. The base of my roto tom stand died and needed a new base. The Roto's mount right into the top hole, then the boom top piece is mounted behind the roto's with a multi clamp. Roto's are very heavy but this has not been a problem for this stand, and with the tom mount I can hook up my 13" timbale right next to my hi hats. I like this stand so much, I'm going to buy another for my ride cymbal, so I can mount my 14" tom right underneath it. I know it will hold up. It has so far.
I didn't give it 5 stars because nothing is perfect! But, for all intents and purposes this stand gets the job done and is worth it in every way. An excellent feature is the ability to rotate the upper boom arm channel so it is directly in line with the main shaft of the stand, it makes the boom arm irrelevant, but it puts the stand in perfect position for my 19" crash, in reach and perfectly out of the way of 12" tom. Heavy duty, heavy stand, rock!
Recently went with my band to play for a church service. This was my only stand (out of hi-hat, snare, and ride cymbal stand) that didn't get beat up to the point that the screw's fell off. Hats off to Tama. I'll definitely be buying Tama stands to replace the old ones.
