  • awesome snare!

As reviewed by JackDaddy4 on 9/22/2008

This snare is very very loud, if you like playing hard and heavy music this is a good snare to choose, i was very fortunate to buy one a month ago...although the price may be steep, its because of the diamond plated steel shell, i know first hand that stuff is hard to come by, especially the thickness (3mm) of his shell. Overall, this snare is one of the loudest and snappiest i've ever heard, its a lot deeper sounding than Joey's Pearl snare.

  • Perfect for a heavy live sound.

As reviewed by Greywolf on 3/30/2010

I've used this snare for several years now. I use it exclusively for live applications. It is extremely loud and cuts right through the mix but doesn't have the tone I get from my studio snare (Tama bronze 6.5 x 14). Now don't take that as a bad thing. This drum is a true road dog. Heavy and able to take a beating, it's perfect for solid back beats or accompanying double bass patterns in a live setting. I wouldn't recommend it for subtle intricacies but for a heavy hitting rocker that needs a consistent live 'crack', this is a great choice.

  • Thanks Lars!!!

As reviewed by Mike Karros on 1/2/2011

When i first heard about this snare, i thought, WAY TO MUCH CASH! but when i finally got my hands on a used one in brand new condition from guitar center, i grabbed it. I love the look of the killer diamond plate, but thats not the only reason i like it, the tone is some thing you can not get out of any other snare. it is loud as all hell when you take the dampener off if you really want to piss off your neighbors. When you got the dampener on, it is a whole different world. You get a real heavy sound from it and it sounds great, just the right amount of snap and under tones. The bongo is also great, a good change to your regular playing if you want to go with some St. Anger playing. All and All, it is a must have to add to your collection even though the price is a lil steep.
