I love this pedal soooooo much. As a drummer, im very picky with pedals. this pedal was great right out of the box. i am in love with this. i would definitely choose this over the dw 2000, hands down. great pedal for only spending $70. Love the powerglide system!

  • UNBEATABLE value for the price

As reviewed by George Noriega on 12/6/2011

As a longtime user of the Iron Cobra Jr. twin pedal, this year I decided to go with two kick drums and switched to the Iron Cobra Jr. single pedal(s). Not having used single pedals in a while I was eager to see if they were as good as the twin pedals and I can safely say that not only are they as good, they are better. Despite the "Jr." classification, the Iron Cobra Jr. has many of the same features found in its big brother the Iron Cobra, and can also be outfitted with the IC's Cobra Coil. Very nice attack, smooth response and customizable to your specifications, like the IC. The only difference is the price. Believe me when I say that this pedal does not play like a cheap pedal; you could easily confuse it with something costing 2-3 times as much. Unfortunately, many drummers think only about speed and think that going with an Axis pedal or the Pearl Eliminator Demon Drive is the way to go, not realizing that they are sacrificing punch and volume for speed. I have in fact used an Axis long board pedal and found it to be terrible; sure, I could do 200 BPM with the Axis, but guess what? I can do it with the Iron Cobra Jr. as well, and you don't have to worry about using triggers to sound halfway decent. Why spend 3-4 times more for an Axis or nearly $600 for a Pearl DD when this is an outstanding pedal that will facilitate all you death metallers out there? Remember, it's all about the player and what he can do, not the pedal. I'm not quite sure why Guitar Center advertises it as a kid pedal ("Heavy Iron Cobra sound for your little rhythm maker"); rest assured it's a full-size pedal, and an outstanding one at that, easily a steal at this price.
