NEW REVIEW - Awesome Snare!
I was searching for the right snare for a while after I sold my old drumset. And I couldn't belive the quality of this snare! Everything is great! It sounds very crisp. It's also very responsive, sensitive, and it has a nice crack. Hehe. I purchased the 13X6.5 and it also looks very elegant. It also looks sexy with the titanium burst finnish. The T.B. finnish doesn't really look like the picture though(its alot nicer in real life). It includes the case, an evans rev. dot head, a tama ring, and a tama drum key . So if you are looking for a high quality maple snare that fits your budget, I highly recomend this snare. 5 Stars.

Why Spend More?
I bought this snare a few months ago, but wanted to put it through the rigors before I wrote a review. I decided a while back that I wanted to upgrade to a professional level, maple snare, but the prices were too much for my budget. When I first heard this drum I was extremely impressed. It has a very warm sound, with excellent projection, and a very cutting crack with rim shots. It also is a sensitve snare. I like a versatile instrument, and this one fits the bill. I can see it being valuable for any drummer playing anything from pop to hard rock. I have used it at about 3 shows since I bought it, and it has been excellent. The main benefit so far though, has been in the studio. I recorded several tracks the other weekend, and we were able to get a amazingily warm, hollow crack.
One other thing to consider, is looks. I personally love the minimal, all business look that they went for with this addition. It looks impressive on stage.
Finally, the other thing to consider is the price. To be able to get a high end maple drum for this price is pretty insane, especially when you consider that they throw in a really nice, thickly padded carrying case. Of course the reason that that is possible, is that it is made in China. Trust me, that fact does not effect the quality in any way, but it may be a deal breaker for some.

Great Sound! Great Price!
I recently was in need of a snare, since I had beaten my original one to the limit. I looked at several, high end brands and tested for sound. When I finally checked this particular snare, I knew exactly this was the snare I was looking for.
I would definitely recommend anyone looking for a crisp, well responding and snappy snare, to check this one out and you won't be dissapointed.

Why waste time
When I needed a new one, I had gone through the rigors of reading reviews for snare after snare online. I'm gonna save you a lot of time by telling you that this is about the best one out there. It has a warm crack to it that cuts through any style of music, yet subtle enough to lay back if need be. It's very dynamic and musical. Furthermore, I play a vintage Slingerland kit onstage and everyone always tells me how much they like my snare sound. Enough said.

has the sound of a $500 snare
i had been looking at a new snare because i plan on buying a starclassic soon and i needed a new snare to. i had been looking at the starclassic brass but it was $300 and i don't have $300. i played this at guitar center and loved it immediately. i don't own it yet but i will soon. it has that real crisp quick snap that you get out of very expensive snares and it's barely over $200.
