Overview

With Takamine's distinctive NEX body style, the P5NC is a singer's delight, combining the power of a dreadnought with balanced tone that perfectly complements the vocal range. It features a resonant solid spruce top with scalloped "X" top bracing for superior balance and articulation, solid rosewood back and rosewood sides, a convenient Venetian cutaway for easy access to the upper reaches of the fingerboard, and elegant ivory body binding with dark wood purfling and abalone rosette.

Built with the performer in mind, the P5NC features Takamine's proprietary CT4-DX preamp system and unique Palathetic under-saddle pickup for superior amplified response. The dual-channel CT4-DX provides a 4-band EQ, two feedback-reducing notch-filter controls, a flexible dual-pickup mix control (for use when a second pickup is added), volume control and an onboard tuner.

Other performance-enhancing features include Takamine's asymmetrical neck profile - which is slightly thinner on the bass side so that it fits the natural shape of your hand, resulting in a comfortable feel and improved playability. The split bone saddle provides more accurate intonation, while bridge pin positioning optimizes the break angle to improve sustain and presence.

Premium design appointments include a rosewood fingerboard with abalone "dot-indot" inlays, a rosewood headcap, gold tuners with gold buttons, a natural bone nut and gloss natural finish.

Introducing the CT4-DX
The 2-channel CT4-DX offers the ultimate in preamp flexibility. Used with the Palathetic undersaddle pickup, it offers 4-band EQ (low, low mid, high mid, high) and two notch filter controls to reduce feedback.

Add a second pickup and the CT4-DX gives you independent control over both pickups, each of which will then have two-band EQ and a notch filter control. You can also alter the mix levels of each of the pickups. Other features include volume control and onboard tuner.

Key Features:
¢ 2 channels
¢ 4-band EQ (low, low mid, high mid, high)

¢ Connection for second pickup source

¢ Built-in digital tuner

Comments about Takamine Pro Series 5 NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The Japanese craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail is immediately apparent when you start looking this guitar over. The fretwork, the nut, inlays, all show the additional refinement you expect on a professional guitar. It is a work of art. The sound is very rich and complex unplugged. Very deep, complex, and rich bass and overtones. Plugged in, the pickup system and electronics are very flexible and produces some of the best amplified tone I've ever heard from an acoustic guitar. The EQ and notch filters give flexibility that I don't think many current systems can match. I chose this guitar after over an hour playing evaluating side by side 2 Taylor and Martin guitars costing over 1K more. I had the budget to buy either of them and this one was the one that went home with me. Go play one and see for yourself!

Incredible Guitar

Comments about Takamine Pro Series 5 NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Exceptionally well made. This is the class of Japanese craftsmanship that makes you understand the deserved reputation.

This is a smooth and resonate guitar that really comes to life when plugged in. Great unplugged sound. Mine came with both the bridge pickup and the Tri-AX2 sound hole pickup. The Tri-AX2 is a Tak branded Baggs MA1 (Look it up). Its an awesome pickup for those that need the very best in live plugged in acoustic sound.

The unplugged sound is very good Very even across all strings and good volume. The sound has deeper overtones than what you might here from say a Taylor and it has a more meaty quality than Martin. Very easy to love and there are some videos around if you want to hear it. It has good fingerpicking action and volume which was important to me.
