Comments about Takamine Glenn Frey Signature Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Since most music stores don't stock many of the top of the line Takamines I had to order but was told I could return it for a full refund if not happy after 45 days. When it arrived the first thing I noticed was the quality of the case. For the guitar, the workmanship was great and the finish perfect. The action was also perfect and very easy to play. I took it to the local Guitar Center store and played it through a Fishman amp comparing it to the top and much more expensive acoustic/electric models from Martin, Taylor, Gibson and others. I actually attracted a crowd in the store and they all pitched in to help evaluate. Using the blind test method, the Tak beat every other guitar for richness of sound and natural acoustic sound. Some of the other brands had special effects in the electric pickup but did not sound natural. The Glenn Frey Tak sounded like an quality acoustic guitar with a full clean sound. While in the store 2 people offered to buy it at more than I paid on the spot. I bought the Tak to play at clubs and parties through a Fishman Performer amp and it sounds great. The Glenn Frey Taks are not easy to get and for obvious reasons the supply is limited. And when you play Eagles songs, it sounds exactly like the recordings. One of my best purchases.

    Glenn Frey Takamine

    By MICHAEL FEATHERSTON

    from Thornville Ohio

Comments about Takamine Glenn Frey Signature Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I ordered this guitar at Guitar Center without ever having seen or played one. I played other Takamines at the store and they seemed to play well. I have always been a Martin fan. But this guitar looks and playes as well as any of the Martins I have owned. It has more bass tone that I thought it would have. The sound is really crisp. The neck is very playable. It is hard to make it sound bad. The only thing is the hardshell case does not seem as strong as the Martin case. But it does serve the purpose. The pre-amp in this guitar is excellant. I would recommend this guitar.
