The little dreadnought that could

By michael yampolsky

from Philly

This sweet little Takamine was my first guitar, and even though I have a Gibson and a Martin now, this is still the one the gets the most play time. Because of its price I don't mind leaving it out so its always there and ready to go. The Martin has slightly brighter highs and the Gibson has deeper lows, but the Takamine is well balanced, projects warmly, and is always a delight to play. I would get another if something happened to this one.

Awesome Guitar for the Price!!

By David Webster

from Houston, TX

I absolutely love this guitar. This was my very first guitar and I have loved it from the beginning. After playing for a while I did realize that the action was a little high for my taste and I went with some new strings. However the sound it produces is actually quite shocking. I have played with many people that have martins and other brands, but when I break this thing out they are always like. "Dude what is that thing?" They are always shocked to find out how much I paid for it, and how well it has held up. Highly recommend for beginners looking for a quality guitar that can withstand a lot of beginner blues. I also recommend it to anyone else just looking for a acoustic guitar to play around with. I promise you will not be let down.

AMAZING.

By Hannah

from Columbia City

I just got this guitar a couple days ago. I had a takamine before this one, but i was getting tired of it because it was my dad's old one that he left in the seasonably hot/freezing attic which would warp any guitar and distort the sound. I came across this guitar in the store and loved it right away and i couldn't believe the amazing price. I love that there's no pick guard and that the fretboard is a solid color, it makes it look much cleaner. I also love the unpainted finish of the wood. The smaller and narrower neck is also great for me being a girl, thus having smaller hands. This guitar resembles a taylor without having to pay the price! i HIGHLY recommend this guitar.

excellent purchase

By bz

from chicago, illinois

first: what this guitar is NOT. it is NOT a high end taylor or martin. doesn't have the fit finish sound or action of a "working man's" instrument. i wouldn't expect it to. what it IS: is a great value, an incredible neck with amazing action, a very very good sound and good fit and finish. it certainly should be considered along side entry level martins and taylors. i bought one for camping/sailing. i love it.

Amazing guitar!!

By Adam N.

from Ivyland, PA

I got this guitar a few days ago, and I LOVE it. It's such an amazing guitar. One of the first things I noticed upon picking it up for the first time and playing it, is that its a lot shorter and more compact than a normal full size. However, thats a good thing. I like the size so much better. I can hold bar chords is so much easier now. I could go on and on about it, but I'll just say it is amazing. Definitely buy.

Amazing entry level priced acoustic blues guitar

By Randy

from Bakersfield Ca.

I could not believe the tone and playability of this guitar that sells for such a reasonable price. I own several acoustic guitars that fall into the "Folk" and "Blues" catagory including a turn of the century Lyon & Healey Parlor and a Gibson J45 both costing big bucks. While dreaming about a Martin OOO Eric Clapton Signature model I happened on this Takamine at one tenth the price and 98% of the tone. Excellent playability and truely great tone and sound seperation. Very worth your consideration if the blues or any acoustic music is what you are into!

Great Price

By Lynn

from Albuquerque

After trying out quite a few guitars, going back and forth and trying them again, I settled between two Takamines. Both sounded great. I settled on this one. Regardless of price, this one sounded best to me. The neck is comfortable, and I just can't get over the rich bass.

Great Guitar for a Great Deal

By Joel

from Boardman, Ohio

I have had this guitar for around 6 months and i couldn't be happier. It is a great sounding guitar for an even better price, and its narrow neck works great for my small hands. The only set back is that it scratches easily, but other than that this guitar is flawless.

Great guitar

By Evan R.

from King of Prussia, Pennsylvania

Out of all of my guitars, this is my favorite right now. The cedar top gives a very warm tone and it came with an overall great set up. I like how the bridge is designed without any pins and the tuners are also very nice. I was surprised and very pleased with the high volume. Personally, I'm not worried about the lack of pickguard. I think it looks better without one. I also think it looks pretty cool without inlays on the fretboard. It was an overall great buy and this first Takamine of mine will definitely not be my last.
