Comments about Takamine GN93CE G Series NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The guitar is, as I say, "reasonable". It needed some setup, there was too much relief in the neck, and a couple (or more) frets needed sanding. The tone is acceptable, not special, and the amplification is perfectly good. The onboard tuner works very well, but the guitar does need a lot of tuning at this stage, it might settle down though once I stop fiddling with it. It is a very pretty looking guitar, but personally that's the absolute last thing on my list of what I look for in an instrument.

Comments about Takamine GN93CE G Series NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar about a year ago, so we have some miles on it. I am pleased with the way that the acoustic characteristics have matured over the past year, and the electronics are superb. I play it with a Fishman Loudbox amp, and it works extremely well for tone, volume, and blending with the rest of the group. Playability is excellent, but I did need to have a professional luthier set it up for me.

One minor quibble, the frets either were not installed properly in manufacturing, or the neck/fingerboard had shrunk a little between the factory and my GC - this was noticeable from day 1, and the luthier was able to sand down the frets along the sides of the fingerboard so I don't feel them at all.

I own two other guitars, a vintage Martin D-35 and a vintage Takamine D28-12, so this is not my first rodeo. I would recommend it to anyone who wants an affordable, great looking and sounding instrument. P.S. everyone LOVES the back, with it's unique 3-piece design.

          1 Great Guitar

          By Charles

Comments about Takamine GN93CE G Series NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Received this guitar a couple of weeks ago. Shipping was really fast. This guitar played great right out of the box. No need for a set up. The action measured perfect for the string gauge (12-53) that came stock on the guitar. The preamp, ea. and tuner work great. All I had to do was tune it and play. I am amazed to get this much guitar for this price. It sounds great, plays easy and looks good. What else can I say. I would highly recommend this guitar to even advanced players.

Comments about Takamine GN93CE G Series NEX Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Honestly, takamine has never been my first choice for acoustic guitars. But from the moment I picked this instrument up I was in love. It sounds AMAZING lower and higher on the neck. The cutaway on the guitar makes it easy to play higher notes as well. I was playing all of the higher end taylors and martins, and this one just felt and sounded better than the rest. The built in tuner and electronics are great, easy, and they stay true to the guitars sound while plugged in. It actually sounds more like a $1000-$1200 dollar guitar than a $550 one. This guitar is amazing for anything you want to do, and it's a great price. Highly recommended.
