Comments about Takamine GJ72CE G Series Jumbo Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

As a music pastor, I have the privilege of playing guitar nearly every day. I love trying new guitars when I have the chance, and I was pleasantly surprised with the tonal quality this jumbo delivers across the full range of lows, mids, and highs. It sounds warm and full unplugged, and the built-in TK-40D preamp carries this same quality quite well through your sound system, though it is customizable enough to give you plenty of added brightness or depth for a particular set or taste. It produces plenty of volume on its own, though the dreadnaught I use most often is still a little louder unplugged. The materials are about what you'd expect for this price range, but it feels very solid in hand, and sounds like a much more "premium" guitar. The thing that impressed me most, however, was how clean this guitar sounds, even when strumming relatively hard. If you're a rhythm guitarist, you won't struggle with this instrument sounding muddy or distorted unless you're really trying. For what I do, I highly recommend this G-series Takamine Jumbo. Yes, there are many better or comparable guitars out there - but a scant few are this affordable. For this reason, I give the GJ72CE a solid 5 stars.
