Comments about Takamine GJ72CE-12 G Series Jumbo Cutaway 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I need (alright, wanted) a 12 string guitar to enrich the sounds of songs I was playing and after a lot of research found this beauty. Since non of the guitar shops (including 3 guitar centers) had the guitar in stock I was a little hesitant to order it but then figured, why not! I already had a 6 string Takamine and love it so I jumped in.
When the guitar arrived I was shocked. The looks were fantastic. The wood grain, the workmanship was amazing. Then I decided to give it a tuning before playing (nothing worse than a 12-string out of tune). Wow! I was blown away at the sound coming from it. The crisp highs, the bass notes ringing in loud and clear. I was hooked from the first strum.
I would recommend this guitar to anyone looking to add to their collection or even for a first time acoustic player looking for a rich and full sound.

Comments about Takamine GJ72CE-12 G Series Jumbo Cutaway 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Huge sound from the jumbo body. Big, bright, full sound without an amp. The on-board eq and tuner make this a complete instrument. Although the guitar pretty much stays in tune, it's great to have the built-in tuner. If you do run it through an amp, the eq helps shape the exact sound you want. As good as it sounds without an amp, a small amount of amplification over a clean channel can make his guitar sound concert quality. It is everything I've come to expect from Takamine.

Excellent guitar for the money. Sounds great, looks great, and plays easy enough for a 12-string. This is my second Takamine guitar from Guitar Center and have NO regrets about Takamine guitars or GC service.

Comments about Takamine GJ72CE-12 G Series Jumbo Cutaway 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

In searching for a reasonably priced 12 string this one is probably hard to beat for the money. The one I received had very low action; easty to play. The guitar seems very well built, no blemishes, great finish. I had a Taylor 12 in my possession at the time (which cost almost 4 times as much) and was able to a/b them to an extent. The Tak was just as playable if not better than the Taylor, at least for me. The Taylor had a more complex acoustic tone with more bass and midrange and a greater better fuller sound. If you did not have another guitar in the room the Tak would sound fine albeit lacking bass. The ease of playing really pulls one to the Tak. Comparing plugged in sound via a Fishman Artist amp; the two guitars seemed equal. The pickup in the Tak was every bit as good as the Taylor expression 2. In fact, the Tak was easier to EQ than the Taylor at least for me as it was easier to dial in some bass response with the Tak than dial out bass response with the Taylor. Playing plugged in equalized the two guitars. Really an excellent value for the GJ72 12e. 4 stars overall but I would give it 5 if you consider the cost.
