Overview

Built on the popular dreadnought design, the Takamine EG530SC acoustic-electric guitar from the G series is a louder, more powerful-sounding instrument. The dreadnought has been the most popular and widely recognized acoustic guitar since its creation in the 1920s. Its broad top and deep body create a large resonant chamber that emphasizes bass response and provides a great deal of volume. This design excels in ensemble playing and is heavily favored by flat pick players. The solid spruce top offers balanced tone, while the sapele back and sides bring out plenty of projection. The dovetail neck joint, rosewood bridge and fretboard, and mahogany neck offer plenty of sustain, and the asymmetrical neck and 1-5/8" nut width provide comfort for intricate fretboard movements.

At the heart of this Takamine guitar is an impressive electronics system, letting you amplify your sound with intuitive frequency controls. The CP-100 pickup is an innovative pickup design over the conventional under the saddle piezo design. It uses a U-shaped aluminum rail, securing the pickup and saddle for a snug fit and balanced response from the instrument, not just pressure on the strings. The Takamine TK40 preamplifier features volume control, bass, middle and treble frequency slider controls, EQ bypass, a notch filter, tuner and a mid contour switch.

The Takamine EG530SC guitar's chrome hardware, chrome tuners, and gloss finish adds a striking touch to this already beautiful instrument.

Great acoustic for all!

Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG530SC Solid Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

my sister was givin this guitar a while back and she never played it so I did. I loved the tones that come this guitar. the low strings resonate very well and when capoed high enough it emulates a mandolin. I really like this guitar there is even a built-in tuner for your convenience. the only problem i find is that there is a problem with the input jack. there is a lot of static especially when the plug twists. there might be a grounding problem with the wires. but besides that it is GREAT!

I've had this guitar for years now and it still plays great. The wood looks great and the neck feels great. The electronic system produces a great tone when plugged in. I've used it for recording and performing and it always delivers a great tone. Great guitar for value.

good beginner-intermediate guitar

Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG530SC Solid Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had this guitar for a few years now, and I've been pleased with it for the most part. When played unplugged, it has a great sound. In fact, it's one of the best sounding acoustic-electrics I've heard when played unplugged. The fretboard has a good feel, and the body is beautiful. However, when plugged into an amp, this guitar does not have a great sound. I've tried it on multiple amps with multiple types of strings, and can never get a great sound. Other than that though, great guitar.

I Love My G Series Tak!

By

from Bristow, Virginia

Comments about Takamine G Dreadnought EG530SC Solid Top Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have owned my Takamine for almost 2 years and Love it! A friend has one, and also Loves it! This is my first acoustic with the built in preamp, the 3 band EQ, and on board tuner are great. The notch filter is useful to reduce feedback in some live situations, but I have not had any feedback troubles so far. The finish and fretboard are very nice. The action was perfect for me, right out of the box. The solid spruce top sings out loud and true. A friend described it as almost sounding like a 12 string! Another friend purchased a more expensive brand and paid 4 times as much. He has very pretty inlays etc, but the sound difference is hardly noticeable, and not worth the extra price!
