Overview

The pickup in the Takamine EG530SSC Acoustic Electric Cutaway Guitar is an integral part of the guitar's design. A solid spruce top and big dreadnought body pump out large-volume punchy rhythms while the cutaway lets leads rip right on up to the higher registers. A solid nato back adds projection while a built-in preamp translates all that tone into the electric realm. Abalone rosette, chrome hardware, and a gloss natural finish add visual elegance.

Exellent

Comments about Takamine EG530SSC Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

After playing my dad's worn out Hohner for a while, I decided I needed my own guitar. So I started saving up and looking around. I played around with a couple of Taylors way out of my price range, played some Martins. The Takamine EG530 caught my eye. Good tone, smooth neck, great price. I chose it over a slightly more expensive Martin because it had a good feel to it. Overall, great guitar, but it is a little bulky past the bridge. The electronics are splendid. This is a great guitar for those who want a quality guitar on a limited budget.

Fantastic Value

Comments about Takamine EG530SSC Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

After learning on a solidbody electric and playing nothing but that for 18 months, I figured it was time to go for an acoustic. I tried out probably a dozen guitars in the price range, Fenders, Ovations, but it wasn't until I picked up the Takamine EG530SSC that I thought "I must own this." It has a great feel, great look, good size and shape (for me at least), and above all, it sounded significantly louder and sweeter than any of the others. After taking it home and putting some Martin strings on it, it sounded even better. The preamp is great too, great sound and lots of settings to tweak. I've had nothing but complements from others for the guitar's sound. I'm quite pleased with the purchase.

So much guitar for the money

Comments about Takamine EG530SSC Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

After playing a freinds Taylor i knew it was time for an acoustical upgrade. I looked at and played a few guitar. When the salesman handed me the Tak EG530sc I knew this was the one. The action is comparable to the Taylor I had played just days before and the tone was sweet. Ive had the guitar for over a year now and although im not a "gigging" musician, it takes a little abuse from my 3 kids. My 2 year old surely knows how a tuned guitar is supose to sound because she strums it everytime she sees it! As for keeping in tune rarely does it need more than a slight tweek, and the onboard tuner is a godsend!! I do not play pluged in very often but the eq does a lot to help shape the tone and the notch filter is very effective at killing feedback. This guitar is well worth a trip to the music store.

Takamine EG-530 SSC

By Mark

from Derwood, MD

Comments about Takamine EG530SSC Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

The sound of the Takamine EG-530 SSC is like the sounds of ANGELS, very heavenly. The tuners are won't adjust themselves easily. The neck size is great for those with smaller hands and those who like electric like necks. The strings that come with it excellent quality. The distance between the strings and fret board are perfect so they never give off that "buzzing" sound. The pre-amp is excellent quality. Great for any style and level of guitarist.

It's a decent guitar.

Comments about Takamine EG530SSC Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

This guitar is OK. There is nothing great about it besides the fact that it has a built in tuner, which I love. The sound of this guitar is nothing special. It has some dead spots, the notes don't have a vibrant ring to them... The tone quality of this guitar is just very fallow and dull. I don't really care for it. Probably the thing I dislike most about this guitar is that it is VERY heavy. Probably the heaviest acoustic guitar I've ever played. The weight just blows me away. I'm not sure how anybody can comfortable play this guitar. If it weren't for this guitar being so morbidly heavy for an acoustic, it would be a pretty good guitar. My overall rating is 3.5 out of 5.

Awesome Guitar

By Cletus24

Comments about Takamine EG530SSC Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

The eg530SSC is one of the best guitars I've ever played. It plays just as well as much more expensive guitars. From the first time I picked it up in the store I had to have it. The action on the lower frets is a little high for my liking, but it's an acoustic so you should expect that. The best feature would have to be the built in tuner, it's right on. Great guitar for the price

Comments about Takamine EG530SSC Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar:

this is the best acoustic electric guitar I have ever played! its tone is amazing and its a bit bulky when sitting down but most acoustic guitars are that way. I got it as a Christmas gift and I was blown away at the price here at GUITAR CENTER. how do you guys keep from going bankrupt?
