Overview

The all-koa grand auditorium sized Takamine EF508KC acoustic-electric is the guitar for players that demand superb playability, natural acoustic tone at high sound pressure levels and stunning good looks in a roadworthy performance guitar. Crafted with a beautiful figured koa top, back, and sides, its cutaway body style provides greater fretboard access. Aesthetic touches include gold tuners, abalone snowflake fingerboard inlays, and a natural gloss finish

Beneath the impressive figured koa is a world-class acoustic-electric guitar that will handle any application whether in a full band setting or in solo performance. The Takamine Palethetic pickup and the warm-sounding CT4B preamp is designed for ease of use and purity of tone. The CT4B consists of 3 bands of graphic EQ tone control, a volume control slider and a built-in chromatic tuner. This is a great instrument for nonstandard and open tunings.

I played many guitars before buying the Takamine, and had decided on a Taylor 410, then by chance I saw this guitar, and said, let me check it out. At once I knew this was the guitar I was going to buy. The action is sweet and easy, and the tones richer and warmer than the taylor,(for abot $1000 less). i would recommend you try playing this guitar before you buy any other in it's price range.

I purchased this guitar to record along with other acoustics that I use for playing and recording.I also own a Taylor 315CE and a Martin D-15. While the Takamine is very playable and easier for string bending, it DOES NOT sound as good as either the Taylor or the Martin. Also note that the Koa is not a solid top and is laminate. That noted, it is still a very nice guitar and I do enjoy playing it...after I have played the Martin and the Taylor!

Glorious

By Curtis

from Lakewood, CA

I had been in love with this guitar, and took the opportunity to play it nearly every visit to CG over a two year period. Never could bring myself to spring for the $$$ since I rarely use an acoustic live. All that changed one evening when I came into the store and found it in the clearance isle. I have no idea why it was there other than maybe the manager thought it was hanging on the wall too long. Called the wife and told her we could argue about it when I got home, but I didn't leave the store without it! Beautiful in looks and sound. This guitar is has flawless build quality, easy playability and a nice bright sound. In my opinion this thing beast Taylors and Martins at well over twice the price. Try before you buy, you will not be disappointed...

Amazing guitar, wonderful tone

By Rodolfo Liceaga

from Lake Forest, CA

I have to say that I love this guitar. Truly a quality product. The action is set up almost where I normally set up my guitars right from the factory. I made minor adjustments to my tastes and viola. Great tone, awesome playability and is sounds amazing plugged in to my Fishaman Artist as well. Play one for yourself, I think you will find that this is model from Takamine plays and sound every bit as well as it looks.

Just B-e-a-utiful

By Cam Ramsey

from Greenville, S.C.

I had seen this guitar in a magazine at my nephews and I tore the page out and carried it home to put on my fridge. There it sat until I was ready to buy (maybe 2 years) Love this guitar! It has a higher register but when pushed through my PA it stands out very well. I play in a duo and I do it for a living so I need a quality instrument on stage, and believe me, I get more attention than my lead guitarist w/ all his Taylor's (and he is an awesome player) I also own the LTD 2006 Tak and would not trade either for anything!

Easily the prettiest acoustic I have ever played. It sounds great with a rich mid and booming bass. This guitar really is a show stopper in looks and sound!!! Absolutly love it!

By John

Just got mine today and love it!!! It has great sound both with and without amping it up. When you do, you get a whole new unique sound. Great action which makes it fun to play. Did I mention it is a beautiful guitar as well?

Stunning!

By Patrick

from Canton, CT

I went to the Guitar Center with the intention of buying an acoustic. I played a bunch of pricey ones & then picked this one up. It practically played itself - low & comfortable action and beautiful tones. It sounds so sweet & projects so nicely. I knew this was the one. I played other top brand names after but kept coming back to this guitar. It was love at first play! I went home with it & absolutely LOVE it!

High Quality and great TONE!!

By Todd Fisher

from Manassas, Virgina

I was in the market for an acoustic guitar, but was not sure what to buy. I grabbed the Martins, Taylors and Gibsons off the wall. I was not fully impressed when it came to play, sound and price. Then I saw the Takamine EF508KC. It looked stunning. I played a few familiar songs and knew that was the one to buy. This guitar plays and sounds better than any Taylor. What a great instument of tone. I changed the preamp to the Takamine Cool Tube PreAmp CTP-2. An even more warm and full sounding guitar. Sounds more like a MARTIN now.

!st Guitar

By JSJ

from SoCal

This is My very first guitar, not having much experiance in what to look for I picked up at least a hundred guitars looking for one that just felt right had good looks and most importently sounded good. This one fit the biil perfectly, it refuses to be put down. As a beginer I would have sacrificed looks first playability second sound last. I am very happy with my purchase plus I got it on sale!!!!
