Amazing, amazing, amazing tone!! I bought this guitar several years ago while playing in an acoustic band. I'm now playing classic rock and I still prefer to play this Tak than my electric. It sounds amazing, plugged in or mic'd. In fact, this guitar is the focal point of the band, not the lead guitarist's Strat and Marshall full stack. The electronics produce rich, bright rhythms that sing!!! Stays in tune constantly, feels great to play, and looks great on stage. After many years and many other guitar purchases(Schecter S-1 Elite, Les Paul Standard, Taylor 455 CE 12-string), this Takamine is still the first one I grab when I come home.

I have been playing my Tak EF341SC for about 7 years. It has been my main live acoustic and it thrives in that situation. Excellent pickup and a very handy onboard tuner. It looks good on stage and stays in tune. Tonally it is a nice guitar, but for recording - fingerstyle playing - yeah - not ideal. But it was designed as a stage guitar and that is where it really shines.

A Great Buy For All Aplications

About Me Professional Musician

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar over 7 years ago for a steal! Over the past 7 years this guitar has been my main touring acoustic. I've played bars, churches, school gyms, auditoriums and arenas.. and across the boad, this guitar holds its own ( I played a '76 Gibson Hummingbird, and various Martin guitars while in the studio). I play D'Addario Phosper Bronze 10s and go through a set of strings in about a week, but this guitar has a great high-end that keeps me sounding fresh. I have dropped the guitar on its face, on the headstock, and it still stayed solid. The only downside to this guitar is the stock electronics, but if you have a decent sound guy or a 5- band eq pedal (to scoop the low mids) it usually works out in your favor!

Worth every penny!

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been playing a '79 mahogany Guild D25 since it was new, but needed something I could plug in. Wanted another dreadnought, but with cutaway, preferably black finish, and this guitar fit the bill. I'd heard good things about Takamines from people I respect. Was ready to travel 250 miles to try one out, but learned via online chat that the one I tried would not be the one I took home, and the store would charge extra to set it up, so no point in making the trip; I just ordered online. The guitar arrived on time as advertised in original shipping box. Intonation is fine at the 12th fret and upward, and it has an excellent, balanced voice, very comparable to the played-in Guild (considering the brand new strings) whether finger-style, picking, or strumming . Can't comment on the electronics because I haven't plugged it in yet- it's that nice just playing acoustic, not like other acoustic-electrics I've played that had no voice without the amp. Glad I chose this guitar.

    A Must Have!

    By thomas deaton

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have played low end guitars my whole life with no avail. I finally saved up enough money for a stellar guitar and chose this Takamine. Before deciding on this guitar, I played Martins and Taylors and was impressed but not sold. I ended up ordering this guitar without playing it (which is something most all guitar players would not recommend). I purchased it based on the reviews of how great it sounds and what famous people play it. I must say that what you read about this guitar is ALL true! It has surpassed my expectations...Guitar Center does not carry this guitar in most stores, but have no apprehension on buying this without playing it...5 Stars! The tuner on the electronics on this guitar are precise to the "t". Sounds unreal through my stage amp and the P.A. Do yourself a favor and buy this gem!

    A truly great guitar!

    By Martin Dodd

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is my 2nd Takamine, I already own the equivelent 12 string. I love the feel of how well it plays, the sound, either plugged in or acoustic is as good as any much more expensive guitar! I have owned this for 2 weeks and already love it! After trying different makes of Acoustic/electric, I found this to be the best bang for my Buck! The finish is superb, the EQ/tuner are player friendly that can be customised for the sound you need.

Comments about Takamine EF341SC Legacy Series Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar when i graduated from high school [7 years ago]. It has always sounded incredible, stays in tune like no other instrument i've ever played, and it's the only thing more beautiful onstage than yours truly. I've been thru the quietest of coffee shops and the rowdiest pirate bars, and this guitar always sounded incredible. Great for solo work or a full band.- I love this guitar.
