The NEX cutaway on the Takamine TSF48C guitar is lavishly detailed with laser-cut American eagle inlays on the deluxe ebony fingerboard that are complemented by a black crow rosette. The solid spruce top together with the solid rosewood back and rosewood sides produce deep, resonant bass notes; rich mids; and articulately detailed treble, and it's all faithfully amplified via the Cool Tube Preamp. This preamp includes bass and treble tone controls, semi-parametric midrange, a second-source input and blend control, and a chromatic tuner. Gold and amber pearl tuners are a sweet finishing touch.

This Takamine is a work of art! The neck inlays as well as the rosette are awe inspiring beautiful. The shape contributes to its' beautiful acoustic sound as well as being a very comfortable fit! Acoustically perfect! Electronics are awesome! Inlays immaculate! The neck shape makes this guitar a pleasure to play for hours! I have used it for several solo as well as band gigs and it has never let me down! Takamine really hit the nail on the head with this well crafted beauty!
First off, I do not typically purchase by name brand, but by sound and playability.
Last year I picked up my first new Takamine, it is a EG523SC G Style (It has about a 1? wider body) and it was love from first sound. This thing projects like nothing I have ever owned. Even my wife said wow that thing has a great sound. For the money I still think this is the best deal in the $$$ category.
My buddies all play the other high end products $3-5K and definitely nice stuff. So I started digging around (that?s always a potential problem) and ran across the Takamine Santa Fe TSF48C. It is more of a high end product than anything I have owned. Honestly I was looking for a more user friendly guitar because my fingers tend to get somewhat sore after the first set of 8 to 10 songs. ?I know more practice may also help?. I have had the TSF48C for a couple of weeks now and so far so good. It actually does not project nearly as the 523 G body because of the standard body size, but it has a great warm sound, and out of the box frets well. It?s looks are a total knockout and the cool tube amp is warm on my Finder Acoustasonic Jr amp. I was already getting complements on the sound of the 523 and this thing I feel bumps it up a notch. This time I admit I purchased because of name brand, I wanted something different than the rest of the crew without giving up quality.
I rate the Takamine EG523SC G body 5 Stars because of sound, looks and quality. I purchased what I thought was a Takamine case for my 523 (from a different name brand guitar store) and sent it back due to lack of quality (It had a rub on Takamine gold sticker on the top and the latches and padding on the inside was less than acceptable to me) it may have been a knock off. I had them reorder a TKL case and it is a good case.
I rate the Takamine TSF48C Santa Fe 5 Stars because of the playability, Sound, Features and Knockout Looks. Note: The TKL Hardshell case that came with mine Is the dark vinal finish with gold latches, raised top cover and is a quality piece. (However is different than the black molded case shown in product features with the Takamine inprint on the lid). I decided to not even mention it to the store because it is a nice peace for me and I do not plan to travel with it.
So Now I smile ? I play a song before work, I am pleased with the product and by the way my wife likes it too! She thinks I?m a good player and I Love her for it.
I've played many guitars, from Martin to McPherson, many high end acoustic guitars in the market.
They are great in every aspect, I think...
But this one is very special due to its value for money.
Beautiful design, great construction, superb preamp, and most of all, it sounds great!
I can hear all six strings sound very loud clear and also can feel the vibration through the body and neck.
(I don't wanna use the words like complex harmonics, very well pronounced mid, etc...)
Awesome guitar for flatpicking and finger style.
One of the best acoustic electric guitars under U$ 2,000.00!
